2nd link would be worth looking at. have ER inspect the car and if they built the motor (just call them and ask for proof) id' see what they have to say about the car. great price depending on chassis miles
3rd car definitely has a salvage title; it's all that the dealership sells

With all due respect, it seems like you actually have a laundry list of requirements. So why would you waste your OWN time by being massively vague in your (apparently) sincere attempt to purchase a car?
If you wish to purchase a specific year/mod level/mileage/color vehicle then please, please, just post EXACTLY what you are looking for and how you intend to purchase the vehicle (3rd party loan, cash, misbegotten funds from Nigeria, coke, sexual favors, etc)
Currently you are simply wasting your own time and its highly unlikely that anybody will spend their good time helping you anymore based on your interactions above.
Hopefully you understand that i'm actually not bashing you (which would have been easier than this response).
I apologize if my response seemed as if i didnt appreciate the help.I have played the dealer and craigslist game for about 3 months now and its getting frustrating.Ive had private sellers on craigslist asking way to much (30k for 34 thousand mile MR)and also was in a bidding war for a car that was complete stock and in good condition(lake city cop owned it).The bidding war pissed me off because i was the first person to make an offer and would buy the next day and was giving him what he was asking. He decided that he could possibly get even more so he showed it to 3 more people and the price jumped to 3 thousand more dollars but when they all backed out he wanted me to buy it for the last offer he was given!!!
There is way to many used and abused EVOs for sale and dealers want a million dollars for them which is understandable.I even have a few people not let me test drive it around the block because they didnt "unnecssary mileage".All i want is a clean car with light mods that has been taken care of and possibly tuned by ER of course

I feel your frustration jwalleg, I searched for 3-4 months for a decent CT9A for my wife. Nothing came up that was even close to being reasonable, or that wasn't trashed to hell.
End of the day, ended up getting her an outlander sport which she is happy with. But still frustrating.

As to the lightly modded, taken care of evo, you might have to buy the canned version of it.
IMHO, ~90% of evo owners dont know how to properly maintain their paint which would affect the outward appearance. The mechanical part is hit and miss depending on the owner. Even if it is "lightly modded" it may have been brought back to stock, sparing no expense to spare expenses in the process.
