im kinda new to posting, but i need some advice...my 8 started knocking so i pulled the motor and tore into it. my #2 rod bearing fell out and ended up in the oil pan, allowing the piston to move freely up and down 1/4"!! so i will need new crank, rods and pistons

im very familiar with engines and very mechanically skilled but not with the evo! im not too sure what people do to these things to make them fast, besides the turbo. i would like to make the motor a good starting point to build from later and i dont want to do anything twice, so these are my thoughts...

eagle stroker crank and rods, wiesco pistons, GSC S2 cams with GSC springs, ARP head bolt kit, and a balancer eliminator kit. ofcourse i will be replacing the waterpump, timing belt and oil pump while im in there too!

any other ideas from anyone???

oh ya, when im done with most of the main stuff i will be towing it down to english for a tune.

I rarely take the evo out in Everett. Usually just to work and back for the most part.

My advice. Call up Aaron or Myles and have them build you a new 2.4L LR engine. And be done with it. Let them handle what they do best and you'll be happier and probably have MORE MONEY in the long run.
