it's a no rinse car wash product...I think my car is way too dirty to try a product like that on it.

agreed. basically the no-rinse stuff is like a speed-detailer they just call it something different. might have a bit more lubrication but the general concept is the same. it's really meant for summer applications every week or two when the car isn't getting road dirt and grime like it does in the winter rain

best bet is still to bring your own sponges and go to a self-wash car wash place like brown bear

I have had mixed results with these products. Most of the time the mitt gets dirty enough that you can introduce holograms or minute scratches from doing this.

My method is to use a foam cannon to dredge the car, rinse (repeating as required), then IMMEDIATELY pull the car into the pre-warmed garage to conduct a liquid drying technique (warmed water mixed with a spray detailer (8 parts to 2) and spray down the car, drying immediately with either a blaster or supple micro fiber cloth).

That technique usually takes about 30 minutes and will keep enough lubricant on the paint to prevent most damage.

Speed Wax. My uncle is a detailer and he gets the good stuff (commercial grade). The stuff is amazing to use before shows/meets or to just give it a quick shine. But yeah, you should only use it if you have a light layer of dust or you recently washed it. Not for heavily soiled cars.

Two buckets, one microfiber for each panel, grit guards, etc. You need the right setup and a good presoak and you'll be A-OK. Presoak required most of the time or pressure wash prior, but yea during winter if your car is caked you probably don't want to do it. My car never gets that dirty so it works perfect and never leaves any micro marring.

If you set up the two bucket system then you didnt really save any time by going the "washless" system now did you?

The foam cannon with an in-line water warmer will beat that setup for speed and reduced friction every time.

Just so happens I got an in-line water warmer to play with this winter
