you should really consider this car if you don't care about owning a salvaged title: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/no...ld-mr-sad.html
IX's have the aluminum hood and trunk lid. It's just the roof that isn't.

MR's came with Bilstien struts, the 6 speed, HID's are an option on IX's, standard on MR's. Also the gauges in the center console. Also a aluminum ebrake handle.

Four models were available in the US. All models used the same 286 hp (213 kW) engine.

* Standard - revised 5-speed, standard model
* RS - ralli sport, revised 5-speed, aluminum roof, gauge pack, minimal interior, also no radio
* SE - Special Edition, aluminum roof/hood, and front fenders, split seven-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels in "diamond black" finish, HID headlights with integrated fog lights, red-stitched Recaro seats
* MR - 6-speed, Bilstein monotube shocks, split seven-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels, aluminum roof, hood, and front fenders, gauge pack, HID headlights with integrated fog lights, vortex generator, and custom MR badging.

Whoops, forgot the Vortex Generator and the BBS. A HUGE MR badge on the back I wouldn't really consider an upgrade myself :P

I don't think any of the evos have aluminum trunk lid. Only aluminum hood, fenders, and roof (for the RS and MR.) My magnetic numbers stick to the trunk of my MR, so it's steel, pretty light, but definitely not aluminum.

Wild, I assumed it was for how freaking light it is. Why does a RS and a lancer have different part numbers for the trunk? I will have to investigate! The outer skins on the doors are aluminum too aren't they? I seem to remember that somewhere in the IX sales brochure. Man, 20 mins searching I can't find the IX brochure that's readable... fail internetz... I just gotta get home and dig one I saved out when I bought the car

The door skins are steel also but I think the crash beams inside them are aluminum. I recall reading about that in the brochure which I still have packed away in a box somewhere. I kept the sales brochure so maybe I'll scan it in and post it up when I get a chance.

I probably would have sprung for the MR SE (even though I think they just come as an MR per the VIN?) if I knew they existed. Not finding out about evom.net until after the fact, FTL!

Hey guys. I just got my car tuned at ER. Around 25 psi. Now that Im home , i just tried to do a small run off the ramp and the Boost is stuck at 10-12 psi max. Any ideas??? Too late to call ER since they're closed. I also found a medium sized flash light they left in my engine.. Dont know if that was whats causing the issue? I had a MBC installed, walbro 255.
