Guess I am gonna be a major *** and be the one to say that this is whats going wrong with the Evo persona...too many damn Honda owner's coming to Evo's now. I see too many with nothing but Tein springs and HKS bov's running around ready to race anything that looks at them wrong....the other half just wreck them trying to race....(btw I own a Acura so not stereotyping but it's pretty close to the truth...)
Evo's are starting to become something more or less like the old DSMs now. You won't find one thats beat to hell anymore or have very few problems.
One of the reasons I'm keeping mine. I know whats been done to her. ;P

I think he's talking about the Honda owners that owned something like a 94 Civic CX with a 70HP 1.5L SOHC engine and thinks they're fast just by adding a GIANT Pep Boys muffler at the end of his 1.5" exhaust pipe and hacking the shifter in half and calling it a "Short shifter"
lol

Didn't mean to stereotype it's just been a major pet peeve of mine lately. I respect well done type r's and even the s2k crowd...just seems like a large portion (not all) have brought alot of unwanted attention to the evo crowd. It's went from being predominately mid 20's early 30's owners to about 90% teens. It's quite embarrassing if I have family or coworkers with me and I got another evo or honda trying to race me for 5 miles....

Problem is they're becoming a lot more affordable and rich mommy and daddy can pay for it. No offense to you teens who actually paid for your own car. I was in that same boat. Back in 2005 i was rollin around IMO the cleanest white 99 eclipse spyder in Puyallup and i got teased all the time from people who thought that my parents bought it for me, or that i was driving in my parents car.
Please... at the time my Dad had a 96 ford ranger and my mom had a 2003 focus lol

Flash forward 5-8 years and the '03 models are affordable by the masses. The Evo community is feeling it as well as subie, E46 bimmers, Audi, early S2K(even though its a honda new they are 35K) to name a few.
It's just the progression on depreciation. In 5-8 years the R35 GT-R will be affordable to more people and the cycle continues.
^ so this was unexpected?
As the same cycle occurs with all vehicles (depreciation, used cars being purchased by younger crowd who wants a better used vehicle than a crappy new vehicle) this shouldnt have been a big shock.
In countries where the evo has been around for a longer period of time, the younger kids probably roll in the older generation body styles while the old timers trade in for their new model units....

anyways... i remember reading that a few of you had your 30k service done at Westwerks in Redmond just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. all i need done is the t-case and transmission flush.

FWIW: I have the redline MT-90 and wished I had gone with the aimsoil with synchromesh. It has much better cold-weather characteristics and the MT-90 is pretty bad below 50 degrees.
