Does it sound like a loud buzzing then some backfire when going WOT? I've had that before too but in a srt4. Got new spark plugs but that didn't fix it. Put some OEM plug wires back in and it went away. I'm guessing a problem with the MSD plug wires I had at the time.

That is one of the things I suggested. If you're on stock plugs with stock gap Francis, I'd be surprised if that was it. At what psi does it do this and is it constant while in boost? Of course, I don't know that I'd recommend keeping in the boost to find out, per se.

BTW - how is the spoolinup kit, or have you not quite had the chance to find out yet?

How would you guys fix this? I plan to take the evo to the drag strip without blowing any intercooler piping off. So far, I have ETS LICP and UICP on stock IC.

I was thinking of wrapping the downpipe with a exhaust shield insulation thingies. Will this solve the problem?
My suggestion as I had this problem with my older AMS licp. Try to install is where you have more slack on the couplers. Problem with the ETS pipe is their is no support bracket and under load with stock mounts the engine moves quite a bit and it will pull on those couplers. If it's the steel LICP I would crank those T bolts down rather hard to prevent that...this is the main reason I went with the Nisei LICP because of the support bracket imo.

Thanks guys.

I have the ETS LICP and am running 25psi without issue for 8 months now.

have you been doing a leakdown test after re-installing the pipe?

I didn't read the problem (opened on wrong page), but I've hit 30psi on the ETS LICP, no problems. I second what dbsears says about cranking them down pretty tight, those tbolt clamps are fairly strong.

Ahem, yeah it is.

BTW, who caught John backing up his Lexis?

On a side note, John is an amazing parallel park-er, as surprising as it was.
