Question....

So I was doing some highway pulls yesterday, the LICP blew off the coupler twice. It's the side closer to the downpipe (not the side connected to the IC). Anyway, I thought that the coupler is expanding due to the heat from the downpipe.

How would you guys fix this? I plan to take the evo to the drag strip without blowing any intercooler piping off. So far, I have ETS LICP and UICP on stock IC.

I was thinking of wrapping the downpipe with a exhaust shield insulation thingies. Will this solve the problem?

What kind of clamp do you have? Some t-bolt clamps strip out or stop working after they have been taken on and off a million times.

Yeah that's a T-Bolt Clamp. They are good clamps when they work. But I have run into bad ones before and they would pop off. If you have the correct coupler and a good working clamp, IC pipes should not routinely pop off. Try another clamp.

I have a problem too. Sorry to interrupt Josel. I was driving this morning and trying to pull full boost then next thing you know it's like a choking sound coming from the engine. I thought it's only a backfire. then that noon i went to Bellevue to drop off something then i was on 6th gear and gas trying to pull full boost again then that choking sound again. I noticed that every time im trying to pull full boost, choking sound is there. I ask a few close friends and they told me maybe is the spark plug gap. Not getting enough spark on the full boost. I replaced the OEM coils with Spoolinup COP. I don't think something to do with that. Im just thinking i can ask some of you guys for help. thanks in advance for the feedback.

Josel, how's the bbq meet at VTR? I didn't make it because too much things to do and plus my bday. spend time with gf and her bro and his gf and daughter at outlet mall then to that fair next to it. I got your decal mailed though.
