****ed my trunk up -.-

Tried to paint my UK style logo while attached to the trunk. Spent 40 mins taping and prepping, the paint still got through in several spots. Luckily its more of a goo type now, so i am out there rubbin it off with a tooth pick. Really pissed how it came out, should have just spent the 25$ for a new badge and painted prior to installation, will probably have to do that now anyways.

/endrant and last time i try to do something myself

.. pretty sure i got almost all of it off, and even if i didnt there would be a way to do it later correct?

Use a little paint thinner, overspray will wipe right off. Just don't overdo it. I would do this as soon as possible. Anything fresh comes off much easier than when it is fully cured.

I dont have any now and sadly I cannot go get some.

The badge looks pretty ****ty now, and I got 99.9999% of all the specs off around the badge, ill give it a quick scrub tomorrow.

over all not too bad of a night i guess.. 1/10th of an inch nick in the paint from my removal method.... but could have been a lot worse.

Wish I would have spent 3 hours removing the badge, ordering a new one, and waiting.

oh well.

Ill probably still order a new one, and do it differently next time.... imo just looks a little civic like.. ill go snap a photo

takata green to match my wheels.... looks good in the pic, but would need another coat to make me happy.

I like how you matched the wheels, Derek. Now you need to do bits under the hood!

Don't go buck wild trying to color match stuff, very easy to bridge the gap from tasteful to ricey.

Yeah, however I dont think that would over do it.... at any given angle you would only be able to see 2 color matched objects.

wheels /badge

wheels/vent

... imo that would not be overkill....

ideas?

Can i just use normal spray paint? even tho it gets hot? Since i found the color that matches best I would rather not have to go find a new type of paint thatis high heat.... worst that can happen is it fades quickly.
