Evidently the rocker arm ratio was a bit extreme Nucci. Sheared itself off the rocker mount at Dallesport :P

I'm running Blizzaks. I read a bunch of recommendations for them.

I have had Blizzak LM-25 for 2 winters now. They are magical in the winter! They have almost the same grip in light rain as in the dry (which is a LOT compared to the Z1 star spec's in the rain, and not nearly as much in the dry). They perform flawlessly in light snow/ice/slush and in the one trip to the pass they were quite good.

The ones I picked out are V speed rated (nearly $30 more per tire) but the ability to drive nearly any speed I want without worrying about delaminating a tire is worth the price!

Weather averages by month and general info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astoria,_Oregon

You wont need blizzaks for the weather down there (on average). Not enough snow/ice for it. If you want good wet weather tires then you can go with some "mild" winter tires, but based on those averages I would probably just run OEM rims with all-season tires and have the warm weather tires on some flashy aftermarket rims.

Hope you enjoy the area! I have a cabin in Seaside, WA just acrost the Columbia river from you. Only indepth info I have as i'm only there a few weeks per year is to watch out for the PCH and Astoria police! They dont have much to do but speed enforcement. Oh, and your traffic will SUCK with all the RV's and tourists in the warm months.
