winter tires for the Seattle, Everett area?
That said, last year I drove on Potenza RE760's, year before that Potenza RE050A's, and the year before that...? 33x12 Toyo MTR's. Hmm
BLIZZAK LM60, I am trying to buy from discount tires. I forgot the guy name that work for discount tires. Can someone tell me his sn so I can get a hold of him. I have a set of blizzak WS60 for my lexus and now I need the LM60 for the EVO.
uhm i cant tell you i work for them because im not supposed to sell tires on here because if i tell anyone i work for DTC ill get banned again because supposedly im selling stuff in posts.....
I've been wondering about snows for the Seattle area too. I've heard Blizzaks are good but I wasn't sure if they were necessary for our winters.
Not to thread jack but what did everyone use during that really snowy winter 2 years ago and how did your tires do?

Excellent winter (snow/ice) tires. Bought a used set Icebears two years ago did three trips to and from cental OR coast at the end of 2008 racing the snow storms and drove them through everythig else in the last two winter. I drive 30+K every year. Best winter tyres I have ever used. They make a lot of noise on dry roads when pushed and are predictable on dry/wet/snow/ice.
Just bought a set for the wife's '04 Outlander to be used year round and and buying a new set for the Evo.
P.S. Drove in SE WI for 16 years using ever brand imagingable and then some.

As for the winter... I'm hoping it IS brutally cold and snowy... love it.
Same here! Can't wait for snowboard/ski season! Last year I have all season tires, but this year I'm going to mount the Icebears. Have a set of Icebears for the last year and still haven't used them, lol
+3

I can't wait to go snowboarding!!
As for tires, I use the Goodyear Eagle GT. Great all season tire! Handled great in the snow last year. Works really well in dry and wet too

If you want a dedecated snow tire, go with Blizzaks. Had them before and never slipped once.
Question for the OP - is the Evo your only mode of transportation? If you can't afford to be stuck, well you may have the wrong car.
Seriously, traction is great but so is clearance. If your nose turns into a snow plow you won't be getting far no matter how much traction you have.
That said, our winters here aren't usually too bad. A couple of winters ago was the worst in awhile. It also depends on where you drive of course. If you drive in Seattle or head to the mountains then you'll want icebears, blizzaks, etc. If you drive around the Renton lowlands or you have a dedicated 4x4 for deep stuff, then you should be solid with a good all-season; maybe going with something with extra siping just in case.

I dont really think snow tires are necessary around here and havent used them the last two years but previously living in Montana I used blizzaks and they're an awesome winter tire.
