David Buschur is now saying that a rewire isn't necessary with the Walbro 400 fuel pump, just a heavy duty ground from the block to the firewall. IMO there's not a lot of real solid data on this pump in an Evo yet.

I have some very interesting news on my fuel issue. Based on how far we were able to get with it, Tom (tscompusa) and I assumed that my Walbro 255 fuel pump had the relief valve mod done to it. We didn't know for sure because the pump was on the car when I bought it. I decided to pull it, and I was surprised to learn that the relief valve mod had not been done. I did the mod but it will be a few days before I can run some logs to see what effect it has on the AFR's.

The results shown above are on a standard unmodified Walbro 255 fuel pump!

I ran some more logs with the modified Walbro (relief valve punched in) and the AFR's dropped more than one full point. It is starting to look like I won't need another fuel pump after all! Once Tom dials the AFR's back in we will know for sure.

its still out of fuel unfortunately Dan.. Its not as bad as it was before, but there's no way we can run more boost up top.

All it did was richen partially in the mid range.. up top its still going to the lean side. so if you want more boost we need to change to a 400lph walbro or something of that nature.

I emailed you revision 37 with a bit leaner to touch up the rich spots. :)

Sounds good, I will look into the Walbro 400lph.

Keep working on it, you can get that time down. My son ran a 12.1 at 116 mph (1.72 60') in this car when it was making less than 400 HP on an Evo VIIII turbo.

As the car sits I'm guessing that it will run low 11's at around 125 mph. Unfortunately the tracks are all closing down for the winter around here, so it may be next spring before we find out what it runs for sure.

Finally got to the track last night. Best pass of the night was exactly where I thought it would be, 11.19 ET at 125 mph. 1.59 60' on all season street tires. Keep in mind that this is pretty much a full weight EVO with a 250lb driver (my son).

The car is still needing more fuel in the upper RPM's. I bought a Walbro 400 lph fuel pump and an adjustable FPR from Tom last week.

How fast do you think this would go down the 1320?

it should run low 11's and trap i would guess 125 or so? im not sure.

and that time with clutch issues is damn good.

LOL - it was an old chevelle with a massive V8 and a 4 stage nitrous set up. Lot's of 9 & 10 second cars there last night. A few 8 second cars. Mostly old muscle cars.
