I bought this short shifter today, and when I was putting it on I found out that the previous owner had already put the same exact same short shifter into the car.

Too bad I didn't realize this until I had already taken everything apart and had the short shifter out of the car. :crap:

Oh well at least I got to install the metal brushings.

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum thing. But I was reading about the short shifter and someone on the ExoXtuner broke the plastic ball located on the bottom of the shifter. Is there an easy way to take it out without breaking it?

Thanks!

We include a special tool with our Evo X short shifter to remove this cup without breaking it. Another TWM exclusivity!

Cool! Thanks! It was easy popping it out. I think the hard part was getting the pins off. Everything else was so simple. lol....

The effort required to engage gears is slightly more then stock. It's barely even noticeable. The EVO X shifter is one of our best selling products and people always love the feel!

Just install my short shifter and base bushings and pulling back on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th gears takes alot of effort.
2nd, 4th, and reverse is fine, any reason for this?

nice write up. used this to install the torque solution one. would of been easier if i had a drill bit to cut the washers out. instead i used a flat head screwdriver and hammer. I was sketchy at first about using the synthetic grease , because that is what i had. But everyone said to use the white lithium grease so it doesn't freeze up in the winter. And it was great advice.

Thanks! I am going to do this in the upcoming weeks and should be a breeze now.
