Does that valve cover bolt onto the evo head without mods? I like the Kia/Hyundai oil caps better; they thread in, like on Hondas.

^ No, the valve cover will not swap over. Would need to swap the whole head.

Quick Update: I tryed to use the factory Kia knock sensor mostly becouse I forget to swap them out before I got the motor in the car. I re-pined it and gave it a whirl. As I suspected i ran into a lot of false knock (upwards of 32 counts) that I tryed to tune out by adjusting the knock sensitivity map but it wasnt working out so with the help of two additional people, a 6ft extention, a ground down snap-on socket with a swivel attached we threw in a Evo knock sensor and full throttle got two counts of knock before we ran out of road.

Havnt had the chance to get a full tune on the car yet but pending some warmer weather and a thing or two to get it legally back on the road so I dont get a ticket on the way to the dyno, we should have somr results. (Need a windshield, Passenger Side Fender, exhaust and an inspection sticker.

Is it possible to use the 4G61/G4CR stubby oil shaft, commonly uses for the B/S kit?

Yes, the Evo balance shaft delete kits will work on the G4JS block, both seals and stub shaft.

You know the G4JS timing belt layout reminds me of the 4G92/3 DOHC layout.

Well the timing belt tooth pitch or gap for the 4g15 sohc is the same for the G4JS just narrower. If only I can get the diameter of the 4G9x cam gears, if its the same as G4JS then their will be a way to adjust cam timing.

I couldn't find a 4G15 or 4G93 cam gear in the yard for nothing, but I do have the 4G15 timing belt[piece of it]. The belt fits but its narrower than the G4JS belt.

Planning on swapping the G4JS shortblock into a 7G Galant soon.
