I got the word from MAP that the head and motor are DONE!
Hopefully they'll ship out today or tomorrow.
Curt Brown is shipping my manifolds back TODAY!
However, the catch is that I'm now back at school, so my room will accumulate a beautiful pile of parts until May 3rd, at which time the car and I will re-unite.

Just got the word from STM on what fittings they use. It looks like this coolant hose project will be cheaper than I thought!
I will only need:
-Two of Vibrant's -12AN Weld Bungs @ $8.95/ea
-Part #11154
-http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1022_1300_1222_1223
-Two of Vibrant's -12AN Straight Hose End Fittings (Black) @ $16.95/ea
-Part # 21012
-http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1022_1300_1289_1310&product s_id=1977
-2ft of Vibrant's -12AN Stainless Steel Flex Hose @ $18.95/2ft.
-One good aluminum welder @ ~$50?
Total = ~$100!

I love the build. That car's story is about the same as my car's. some idiot learned to work on cars, then someone who's less of an idiot comes back through, puts a 2.4 long rod into it, fixes all the stuff that's been done wrong, and ideally ends up with a super sweet car that's both fun to drive and relatively reliable.
The only difference is that, in my case, the car never changed hands. I used to be an idiot
Maybe I still am lol

I'm sure you're plenty competent by now. It's really a shame how many things were done wrong on this car. He wired the sub into the fuel pump wiring in the ugliest fashion I've ever seen.Reliability is my MAIN goal. Thus, you can't do that on the cheap side of things unfortunately.

It's a 36K Mile ex Voltex car that is essentially my funder for this build. I was going to fix it and track it, but I've been using parts/selling parts, so that's likely the way things will continue to happen with it.
You probably spy the DFVs, eh?

Neva sawh ya cawment bruh. My b.
Motor and head are at the house, and I'll be going home the weekend of Easter to assemble the longblock.
I'm picking up an OEM 60K Maintenance Kit for the longblock as well. I had MAP do an OEM Front Case and Oil Pump, as well as their balance shaft delete.
I'll be sure to take ample pictures of the block and head.
I'm extremely tempted to pick up a JB Red in the classifieds, but I'd end up spending about the same to have it rebuilt as I would sending my IX turbo out.

Placed a huge order today with everything else I'll need for the build.
I'll be home on Thursday to assemble the longblock!
I made my own FP Oil Line Kit for less than half of what they charge
I have copious amounts of fittings coming in as well. Should be a great weekend!
Oh, and I'll be sure to put up pictures of my Energy Suspension Bushing Kit as well as my polished A-Arms.
^Younger family members are great
