Well now we will have a definite comparison between the red and a 6262. If the red is spooling awesome and making great power then we know. I am so undecided. I love the power I have but also loved my spool on 20G. I do like that I can crank the boost and make an additional 200whp. At 17psi I made 400whp. At just under 23 it made 515whp. At 27ish 565 but I think that will be surpassed since I upgraded to a CEA turbine wheel and to a ceramic DBB from a Garrett chra.
Those are killer numbers, especially on such low boost.
for the short time i had the black on the car it made 630whp/570tq VD... didnt get a chance to run it at the track but with 450vd it went 125mph for reference.. this was on a 2L, stock TB and intake manifold. rolling into the throttle from a 40roll on drag radials it would just melt the tires on 70* nights. it was very torquey. didnt feel it was lazy at all.
Don't get me wrong if you went from an FP red to an FP Black you would definitely feel the difference in lag. I dont know how you are with cars, but if you are someone who wants no lag at all then it could very well be possible you wont like the black over the red.
On paper they are very similar, but driving the fp red is going to be a lot more responsive in everything you do.
Your mods and displacement + the red is going to be extremely fun and i think it will keep you more then content. it will be a handful for auto X for sure.
I see you hitting full boost around 3600RPM in 3rd easily. and its going to make a lot of power per boost because you have the right bolt ons.
You are correct. the fp black is more like a 3582R
You are also correct the red is the middle man of the green and black, which technically it is the best of both worlds. its a mix between a larger turbo and a smaller turbo. so you are going to have some of the snappy response like a smaller turbo, and the top end like a large turbo.
It does seem like they are more prone to failure though then the other fp turbos. i dont know if its because its just big enough to easily overspin itself or what, but when you tune it dont push it to hard. i think you can reach your goal at about 30psi.
I used to have a fp red on a stock block and it was a very fun setup. Its a lot more responsive then a black is on a 2.0L. 250RPM may not seem like a lot, but it really is when you're in the car and feel it.

I can't seem to get my front 02 sensor to read after I switched back to a Stock ECU so I may have to grab another series 1 box to throw in there to get the tune 100%. Or just do open loop, we'll see.
not really, it was deff a noticeable change.. however the car was more enjoyable to drive around the city and highway since you weren't always in boost having to feather the throttle. stock turbo was almost too responsive

I know how that is, and I'm definitely going to miss it. I'm worried about my fuel system for the Red setup. 1250s and a 400 isn't going to be near enough for FP Red on E85. May be pump gas and race gas until I can afford a DP and 2150s (which will be never).

Quick question. I need to pick up a slim fan, as my stocker with the fat Koyo isn't working out too well clearance-wise.
Does anyone have experience with the 12" FAL? I'm planning on picking this guy up and wanted a second opinion:

Thanks, man! I'm hoping to make close to 600/600 on high boost/Ethanol, and hopefully hit around 450+ on 93 octane.
Nope, this is the Red setup! Thanks, man.
