No just rear wheel drive only. The 4g63 is the same length but taller and lighter. I will find out how it handles. Never herd of any negatives about handling from any of the conversions.

Car dropped off at body shop today, get it back in two weeks. Then motor build.

I always wanted to do some sort of weird swap.

BTW, what about the drivetrain........are you planning on making it AWD too?
Those guy's hate any kind of swap, conversion you can't even put a turbo motor in a reg 911 without some one flaming you.

Really? I thought 993 motors went in pretty much everything pre-watercooled.

I met Eric several years ago at a meet. His car is really clean. Good luck with your build man!

It seems a cool project!

I had an EVO and now I have a Porsche too!

Personally I would go with a flat four Subaru STI motor just to keep the boxer characteristics of the car and the lower center of gravity. Plus I think mounting would be easier...

Good luck with the project. Can't wait to see the end result.

the motor out of your 996t is arguably just as great as the 4g63, those metzger motors can make 900whp for years, one of the baddest 6cyl, ever.

cool build though!

with the subie motor you have to weld and cut with the evo motor no cutting or welding

Sub'd, this is all kinds of awesome. Was starting to think of a P car, but reading up on IMS failures made me think twice. There's a guy who did a SBC swap bc of that, but I like your choice better.

the IMS has a fix but IMO you have to fix it before you get the problem. Except this problem the motors are quite reliable.
