Looks awesome!

I want a tranny cooler! (How much $....)

Do you have a pump recirculating the trans fluid around?

Bink,

Uses the pump from the auto to drive the fluid through the cooler.

Ah, yes, that makes sense

Do you guys make one (or use one) for the manual transmissions?

Aaron, great build thread. I will be following along every step of the way!

A couple questions:

- what do you think is the HP or TQ limit of the OEM 100mm crank?
- I thought I read somewhere a while back (can't remember who from) about 2.4L being past-optimal as far as volume to flow through the EVO head. Any comments on that? The bigger the better?

Also, thanks again for the help so far on my project. We're just waiting on the Wiseco's then the build should get moving forward. I'll be in touch soon to borrow some more of your 2.4/MIVEC mastery!

Did WAY back for Luke's talon but it didnt seem to be very needed from what we observed on that. I can look up the parts list I made for my 6 speed when I had that (5 years ago) and try to figure out what it would take.

Havent broke a stock crankshaft so I'd say 830/630 seems to be okay. For what you want to use it for I wouldnt get buckwild on the port job. Dont want to sacrifice too much low end to make it work right. Mine doesnt seem ported huge, though it definitely has time in it, and works just fine. I still make peak power fairly high on my turbo so the 2.4 hasnt cut into it too much. I think I posted about it before but its something like 400rpm between where mine made peak power on a 3586 and a comparable 2.0L.

I will have some today at lunch time PST.

Car started and ran under its own power last night. I will start breaking it in, wire in the new gauges I need to add (oil temp, oil pressure, and trans temp), and then I am shooting for the dyno tomorrow. If the GD rain would let up I might even make it to the track before IFO. Not sure I am going to run IFO Woodburn though until I have some testing done...maybe IFO Seattle weekend after next with trips between.

Its amazing how many little problems I had, but this build has been about me doing it as much by myself as possible. Shortblock and cylinder head were all me, obviously the trans was outsourced, the plumbing, installs...BUT lots of guidance and help. I cant wire anything to save my life so I owe a debt of gratitude to Jake and Steve for that, TJ for figuring out what was going on with my fuel pump, and Jeff for letting me know what I was doing wrong

Aaron

It shifts hard and precise right now. Still waiting on the stupid 300M cross shafts before I put the 3794 back on.

Here are some more pix-

Sneaking up on it-
