for sure i hope next time out. i will prob need to cage car also because the track is pretty strict. i got yelled at last time. my goal i dont feel is that high.. i just want 140mph and anything in the 10's. but preferably under 10.5.. then as you said it will be 9's then i dont know if i have enough ***** to go for 8's lol.

====================================

i never shared this before so i figured it would be cool to share to you guys. as my signature says i am sponsored by forced performance.. well i have something here that i plan on doing some crazy stuff with.. i would like to take the record but honestly dont think thats going to happen on a evo 8 head.

but this will be the turbo i attempt it with come winter:

has a speed sensor built into it so i can monitor shaft speeds so i dont completely grenade it first attempt.

Also just got my clutch back on the car

and something i really wasnt sure i wanted to do but did it anyways.. I bought gsc s3 cams.. i will be doing a comparison test with kelford 272 so others can see what the latest kelford 272 vs s3 do against each other.

now just waiting for my trans back and then i think im going to pull the driveshaft also and replace with a lighter one.

Very nice Tom. Being able to measure shaft speed is great. Do you know what the maximum recommended shaft speed is for the BB Black?

With the GCS 280s it looks like you are starting to slowly move the car from a street torque monster into a dual-purpose street/drag machine?

Im more interested in top end now more then downlow yes. I am after high trap speeds and low ET.. i cant get that with my current setup easily so im moving on.

i want to maximize the setup on the fp black then move onto a t3 setup next. most likely the 3586R

its more of a daily driver / weekend fun car / drag machine yes. i never was into turning or anything like that.. i normally just go WOT in a straight line.

the maximum recommendation is 130K but ive seen them up to 160+K before. (and watched my turbine wheel explode and go out the exhaust soon after)

i am hoping the s3 and f1i wont really kill the low end to much though since its a bigger displacement engine.

your car is a perfect example of a badass fp black setup.. not to many guys can do what you did easily.

im trying to gear my setup to be more efficient with less boost now.. hopefully the route im taking gets me there. i feel 650whp is all i need to reach my goal at the drag strip granted everything else functions properly.. clutch, trans, tcase.

Tom,

What's wrong with evo 8 head in respect to getting the record?

The shaft speed gauge is badass, but how does it effectively measure the speed? What does it use to measure it and how accurate is it?

Your ongoing build looks great, Tom. You really can't go wrong with the s3's in your quest for more power. Definitely gonna be watching this thread.

Yeah, a lot of the big power guys switched from the Mivec head to the VIII head with some nice gains.

Looking forward to your results once the car is back together Tom!
