My Evo 8 build
Im in the same spot. I fill up my car as well as 5 five gallon gas cans in the trunk and trek back some lol. I tried a 55 gallon drum with a bung in the bottom but it kept leaking through that bung so i gave that up recently. I plan to buy a steel transfer tank from TSC next summer as a means of corn supply lol. Ive ran straight e85 for about 9 months or more and i am doing a pump gas tune soon with my tuner but only to clean out the system for once and to have in case of emergency. But if you go to e85 don't plan to ever leave its not possible to give up once you feel its power lol.

so we'll see what happens next time but yea ima stay of e85 till it becomes more accessible i would rather not have to disappoint my self later lol
yea true well who knows maybe by the time i get back there might be one a little more convenient and with all this talk about it im about to say ok and just make the 45 min drive to get it and fill a bunch of gas cans lol so i mean if its that amazing then maybe i should just give it a shot
hahaha nice i think ill suck it up and bring either a bunch of cans and try and keep it at the house with me im liking these storyies and numbers of e85 and especially after seeing it in action i was just a little scared it might be unhealthy in a DD but seems like allot are doing it and running just fine on the walbro 255
well basically its a cheap way to make amazing power. I mean a pump gas fp green car or bbk will make similar if not the same power as a stock turbo e85 car. Its ridiculous. A lot of guys have ran it for many years on here. I've never had any issues with it. I have an e85 and e70 tune both for the summer and winter blend and both work very nice. You may want to do pump gas fp red then when u aren't satisfied with that anymore jump into the corn lol
haha i think thats the plan for now like you said a cheap way to make more power so when i start to feel like hmm i wonder if i can go a little faster ill go get some e85
o i will thanks again for the help of everyone like i said it was about a month of non stop researching on here turbos and i was stuck on black and didnt know anything about the red and bam read something and felt like hmm that would be nice for how i drive and still might break me into the 10s when i goto the track once or twice
Ok so ive run into another dilemma ive been hearing alot about these MAP EF3 and EF4 turbos does anyone have any input on these over the Red for what im doing with the car Block is staying stock for a bit and just trying to have a fun DD that can make around 430+ maybe closer to 450 if anyone has any incite please give me a few tips thank you guys
Plan Thoughts
All of my feedback will be from the perspective of having a fun daily driver that is running 92-octane on the stock 2.0L.
The FIC 1050cc injectors will work just fine with 92-octane. If you make the switch to E85 in any sort, 1450cc injectors (along with a Buschur double pumper) will need to be purchased.
The Competition Clutch that you have is a great option as you can still run the OEM flywheel without issues. I have this same clutch and at 470wtq, all things are totally good to go.
O2 dumps are a good investment. They are not as loud as people think and are only noticeable during wide open throttle. If you believe that this is still outside of your tolerance, then any good quality O2 housing (i.e. MAP, JMFab, Buschur, etc.) will work.
As it relates to exhaust manifolds, you have to keep in mind that there is a trade-off between the OEM ported and tubular. The tubular exhaust manifold will push your powerband to the right a tad and give you greater top end. The OEM will give you a quicker spool and gain some torque, but will not make the same top end power. The Buschur ported/coated OEM exhaust manifold is a good option. For tubular manifolds, the JMFab or MAP variants are good options.
For the filters (yes, the same things matter), I would look into either the Perrin or Amsoil as there is a pretty good "filter test" thread floating around.
Lastly, at least for now, get yourself the AEM wideband O2 sensor as it is one of few that can be used to log.
