Our issues are always similar, maybe its a black evo thing. I had piston to head Contact issues as well but for a different reason. Good luck scott.

Thanks Wheats. It's looking like the motor will be together and in the car next weekend the 10th. That gives us a solid 5 days before the Shootout which is plenty of time

I still have 100% intentions on driving it to the Shootout and competing.

the head was lifting because we ran the thing in beyond kill mode at the beginning due to vac line being set up wrong on external wastegate and it shot over 60psi which killed the hg

i still remember when you came back you said you were shaking and the car felt beyond retarded and just spun 3rd like it was first gear.

car will rip this year once Moran motorsports & Russ straighten the machine work out for you.

I cant believe your machine shop did that!

Yeah that was pretty retarded, lol.

It should rip for sure, I can't wait to get it together next weekend.

Machine work is all done, its just sitting here waiting for the pistons. What is nice about custom pistons, you can do your machining without the pistons and then order them to your spec.

yeah, previous machine shop is a huge fail

I wish, haha. It's pretty much all done except the motor. I'm hoping to have it in by this weekend or early next week

Last night I installed the TRE max lock rear diff. I'll install the drive shaft and fill it with fluid this week.

(Need to get the dirty finger prints off the new cover )

I don't think I could spend $500 for a cover I don't need that I'll never see unless under the car lol. Guys have been going 8s with stock cover & no issues.

Exactly. I keep wanting to change my diff mounts out for pretty billet ones but I just can't justify the cost when what I have is working. I can see you've taken the same approach.

I agree, no real benefit there but a few lbs... not worth it for me.

They sure would be pretty though with a billet cover, but that's like $800 dollars there!!!
