you didn't tell me you blew the plug 2x over the weekend! were you guys tuning the launch map in better on saturday night when it blew?

i doubt your head is lifting, otherwise it would kill the waterpump also.

just make sure the plugs prematurely coming out 100% before you make it impossible to come out with tapping it.

if theres a real issue, and the plugs the weak link, once that weak link is eliminated then it goes to the next weak link. (waterpump usually). or a random coolant line if you're lucky lol.

and 20MPG!!!!

Yeah we had one pop out while tuning on the road Saturday night, replaced it and it was holding good. Then it came out again at the track Sunday after my 2nd or 3rd run after a launch. The hole it seals in is scored. The car is also pushing zero coolant.

I'm not sure if its lifting the head or not, but if it is it won't be anymore once we take care of it A special 4g63 freeze plug kit may be available after my car is up as well that my friend could be releasing.

The car was a real pleasure to drive down. Was happy with 20MPG seeing as my stock daily driver Evo gets 23-24

If your head was lifting your car would push coolant Scott. You would notice it when you were in full boost being you would smell coolant and it would also seem really hot and act like its overheating being coolant would be going into the cylinders.

Its a plug that goes into the block to keep oil in. There are 2 of them I believe. But they just tap into the block and if they are improper size and or damaged they will pop out.

They are for your cooling system.. and there is 8 of them.

You must be thinking of something else.

The pressure in the coolant system "shouldn't" exceed what the radiator caps value is i.e 1.3 bar, if everything is hunky dory.

Retaining compound ( the green liquid) could be used versus the red lock tite that I had mentioned before.

the cage looks awesome along with the rest of the car.

Thanks for the kind words Warren. i'm looking forward to checking out your car in person. The stock is a 1.1 bar. Stant makes a 1.1 bar cap that i've had good luck with (7 dollars and change at NAPA).

Also, while I was at the track this past weekend, I threw my car on Summit's scale that they have. It is 2850 with the slicks on without me in the car (that was full interior with all seats, etc). Race weight with me in the car would be exactly 3,000lbs.

I had a freeze plug blow a few years ago. I used the retaining compound when I put the new one in and never had a problem. A few people thought I was crazy but it seems to be a common practice.
