Dan, The 1 piece shafts on our cars is not going to work out very well. it may be ok for a drag car, but for a car that drives around a lot, i feel you're going to get a lot of vibrations. Plus its very hard to fit the 1 piece in the evo due to the offset angle in the evo. (which is why its going to vibrate) & why the OEM shaft is 2 piece + CV to absorb vibrations.

The Subaru on the other hand is perfect for the 1 piece design and works extremely well with it.

I would advise staying away from a one piece design unless you're really going for it down the track. AWD used a 1 piece from Torqline in their one drag car back in the day.

you do need to remove the mounting bracket on the second joint ''3 piece DS'' when you go to a 2 piece you don't need it anyways. the company ''PST'' i plan to buy one from is claiming no vibrations and will work on a street car. we will see.

Ya i know i had the two piece i just sold Scott in my car. Even the two piece is not as smooth as the stock shaft in the regard of WOT and controlling vibes. however everything else is night and day. Some people can't notice the minor difference in WOT, i did however, but the pros greatly outweighed that little con, which some can't even detect.

I had the stock shaft on and off (3) different times comparing it to the aluminum, and i decided to run the aluminum over the stock. the difference in WOT performance is pretty crazy also. theres a big difference. its amazing what a driveshaft can do to the vehicle in regards to transforming it & responsiveness.

I am a really picky person and i can detect the littlest thing changed on a car. so i dont expect others to notice the difference in WOT as much as i did.

its like going from a civic to a bmw. the aluminum makes the car feel stiffer, decel is amazingly improved, and shifting is improved. just overall way nicer. there is no delay or lag in the vehicle anymore. no need to load the drivetrain anymore, because slack no longer exists when the length is cut properly on the replaced aftermarket aluminum rear piece.

I know of PST and i would never trust their 1 piece shaft. Its up to you, if they are willing to let you try it free i say go for it, but its not physically possible to get the proper angling on a evo with a 1 piece shaft without harsh vibration, thats why no one makes it anymore for the evo.

Atleast if it fails, it will broom out and won't flip your car.

i am paying for it at a discounted price. i was told if i had any complaint i can return it for a full refund. so i do not mind giving it a shot. if it does not work out i can always put the AWD 2 piece back on.

Good info Tom. Can't wait to get it Monday!

All bars are out and being painted. They are going in the car tomorrow morning for final welding and finishing it up.

Decided to throw all the interior stuff in where its placed and scale the car before cage goes in (a very accurate scale). It is 2802lbs with street tires on. With slicks and driveshaft it should be close to 80 more lbs. I'm guessing the cage is 70-80 but we will know for sure once its in.

And the GN you all love

It's a beautiful shop for sure. Definitely somewhere I don't mind leaving my car. The main part of the shop is just as good but lights are off.

The scale is awesome. Will scale car again with cage in.

Scott, what is the difference in weight from the truck stop? If I remember it was extremely lighter?

Yeah the truck scale said it was 2770 with me in it... very inaccurate. This is another reason I wanted to scale the car because I had a feeling that was not right. It use to be accurate last year, so they probably need to re-calibrate it.

That is a huge difference. Good to know though. There was never a definite answer in thw weight thread.

Thanks, and the car is coming along nicely.
