2006 EVO MR in Calgary

I have been back and fourth between a X and a 9 since the first X came to my work in 2008. Things worked out as such that I pursued this 9 we see here from a forum member.

The car has 49xxx miles when it arrived yesterday and is in immaculate shape. The previous owner was a stand up guy, and it shows with the condition of this car.

I plan to lightly modifiy the car and keep it as a well balanced car. The car has a turbo back exhaust and panel air filter, upgraded fuel pump and a mellon racing tune. It also has a AEM boost gauge/controller and A/F ratio gauge as well. It is not quite stock like I wanted at first but, the service history and some other things made me look past that. I am happy I did. It feels good to finally have the car to enjoy after literally spending hours and hours looking for the right car. I sell evo X's for a living, love them, and was quite torn between this 9 MR and the 2013 X in cosmic blue.

Car just got a fresh oil change today. Needs a new clutch as the stock one is on its way out. I plan to shampoo the engine tonight, will update a picture of that later.

I will update this thread as I add things.

Looking to put the Exedy stage 2 clutch in this car. Based one some light research it appears I could live with the clutch as a driver. Any thoughts on this from someone running that clutch? Or suggestions for a reasonable street clutch that will hold the power well but not be to firm?

Subscribed for a Canadian Evo IX!! You don't need a front plate in Alberta? :P Glad you chose the IX over the X, I think it means more seeing one in Canada then an X

The old skins were in rough shape.

Decided to remove most of the items from the trunk in an obvious effort to shed a few un wanted pounds.

Stock motor with k and n filter. Just heated wrapped the upper rad hose and put some heat reflective wrap on the overflow tank.

My clutch showed up but it was BROKEN so needed to send it back and wait for the new one to show up. Looking to order the injen upper and lower i/c piping kit as well as intake here in the coming weeks.

Heat wrapped the Fujitsubo down pipe yesterday in an effort to keep some of the heat ouf of the front diff and have less heat transfer into the oil through the oil pan. Is this overkill on a street car, I don't know nor do I care.

Then I had some left over so I wrapped the portion of the rear section that passes close to the rear diff.
