Going in for another attempt at tuning tomorrow, provided EvoScan works properly this time. Hopefully we finally get this knocked on the head. Will post results tomorrow ASAP.

SUCCESS
Took the car back in for the tune today after we had to abort last Saturday and this time things went a lot smoother. We chucked a 3 Port in it first then put it on the Dyno and got to work. It took us a while to accurately control the Boost through the Solenoid, It was just a universal Link unit that he had in stock but it worked beautifully. We ramped it and Logged it a tonne of times just to get fully familiar with EvoScan which worked perfectly today.

After we got the boost sorted we started to tune and got some pretty decent results. In the End we only added about .5 to .75 psi to what it was making stock although it now holds it from 3400RPM to red line rather than tapering off almost 4psi like it did before. We also pulled a bit of timing from the top end and leaned it out a little, it is running beautifully, no knock and still nice and rich so its very safe and is maxing at around 225-230 load. Again I don't have printouts but I will be getting them tomorrow when I duck back into the workshop.

The best run we did managed 195.3kw at 20Psi, with 375Nm torque at the Front wheels by 3475rpm. By red line the torque has only dropped to 325Nm and the boost is still at 20Psi. This run was the last one after about 4 hours and maybe 12 or so runs before hand so it was a bit hot and not as happy as it could have been. Tomorrow I will go in and just do 3 runs at a nice temperature and see if the heat soak was indeed causing us to miss the few extra Kw we need to reach 200. I will grab all the printouts from the last few dyno days then and chuck them up to show how it has improved.

But For Now... 195.3 awkw.....375Nm Torque

I really like the dark and CF accents that you're doing on the evo. Nice to see your girl helping you out too! Cheers to a cleanly kept 7.

That Galant is pretty nice looking too. I think that body pulls off the look of a wagon much better than the Evo wagons.

Thanks mate

The Legnum Is definitely a sexy Wagon, It looks tough from the front and sexy at the rear, goes pretty hard as well Doesn't drive better than an Evo Wagon though, but it tries haha.

Well its looking like we are finally done and Dusted with the Mods and Tuning for the Evo at this point in time. I have a few plans for the car in the hopefully not to distant future but I am pretty happy for now.

Here are a few Printouts showing the before and after graphs. We Did Manage a 198.7kw but it wasn't consistent where as this was so I have gone with the 195 to show how it should drive every day.

The before is the Lowest one I could find, Sadly I forget to get a completely stock one before I started everything. The 'Before' here was taken with the exhaust and Pod already on the Car but no tune, this is the lowest number it ran with those Mods
The after was taken after my other Mods were added and with a very smooth and consistent tune that remained very safe and didn't really push the car too much.

Printout One... Power, Front wheel Torque and Manifold Pressure.

Before - With 3" Front pipe, Highflow Cat and Cat Back, Apexi Pod Filter in HKS Airbox, HKS SSQ BOV and Standard Tune..178.5awkw, 348Nm Torque on 19Psi

After - Above Mods, Link 3 Port Boost Solenoid and Flash Tune...195.3awkw, 378Nm Torque on 20Psi

Printout Two..Power, AFR's and Injector Duty Cycle.

As you can see the car makes Nice torque through a lot more of the rev Range now thanks to the Boost staying a lot more consistent. It would have been nice to put another Pound or two through it but my tuner wanted to stay fairly conservative with it, you can see by the AFR's that it is still nice and rich, he only pulled a small amount of fuel in the end, The only change made to Timing was pulling out a degree or two across the top end to coincide with the increased boost and eliminate knock.
I am happy with the results and feel safe knowing that if I wanted to it would be safe to go out and give it a nice big hiding without fear of it going bang, not that I will haha.Next I will be getting a fuel pump very soon and have plans for a turbo upgrade in the New year. I am amazed with the potential of the Evo, only a few cheap bolt on's and a nice safe tune and your at 200Kw. Cant wait to take the next step

I have Decided on a new shopping list to help me get a bit more power and response out of the car now I have finished my first set of Mods which I am very Happy with.
So I will be going with the following which I will hopefully knock on the head in the next few weeks.

-Fuel Pump- As far as I know mine is standard but its making ~200kw and still running nice and rich so I will check first before buying.
-Silicone IC Hose Kit- Eliminate that nasty factory soft pipe.
-Fit my Invidia Dump Pipe-
-Fit my Invidia Front Pipe-
-COP Kit-
-Re-Tune-

I will go this far then and see How I go for Gains. A little down the track when I can save some $$, probably after Xmas because that's a wallet killer, I will be looking at some GSC S1 Cams or Tomei 260 Poncams aswell.

I am going to do an Oil and Plug change Thursday night and hopefully all my drive train fluids over the weekend to get it nice and fresh.

For Visual mods all I have left to do from my original wish list is MR style Head and Tail Lights (Probably DIY headlights to save $$) and some new wheels. I am looking at my Mates Black Drift Teks

Had a pretty sweet turnout to a Local Evo Meet I organised on the Weekend, was only short notice but still managed a dozen cars.
Next one will be organised with a bit more notice and hopefully have even more people attending.

Here are a few pictures anyway, there are more on the way...ENJOY

never thought to wrap my rear wing with the carbon fiber wrap! great idea! that would forever cure the clear-coat peeling issue! thanks much for the idea.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Bit of an update, I have no pictures as my computer is off being repaired at the moment. Since last update I have painted my headlights like MR ones, and also got hold of a set of JDM 8 GSR taillights and painted them black inside MR style aswell.I have Fitted a Black Vortex Generator aswell

Performance Wise I have installed Evo 8 MR Bilsteins with RsR Ti2000 springs.I also added a invidia O2 housing, a larger cast compressor outlet pipe and some alloy LICP.

With a retune we added 12Awkw and 45Nm of torque with about half a pound of boost more than before.

Will be quiet over Xmas as Money will be going to a holiday, but in the new year I will be doing my Major Service and dropping in a set of GSC S1 Cams, some cam gears and maybe an 8Mr turbo or I will splurge and go a 9RS one.

Thanks for reading guys, Regards Mitch.
