2006 Evo IX MR Build

Just bought this amazing car, and can't wait to start working on it! The first thing I want to do is learn to tune it myself. I am wondering if there is any tuner people here that can point me in the right direction for tuning equipment. I have the wide band O2 sensor on the way, EvoScan 1.3U cord will be on the way after that, then I will be getting the EvoScan GPS unit for the gauges. I am also wondering if anyone can tell me if I will need any more "odds and ends" for parts to be able to start logging and tuning myself?

Thanks for your time,
Any input is appreciated

Evoscan, Ecuflash and a Windows laptop. Connect your wideband through wire number 75 i believe on the ECU to log it.

Timing Belt and Drive Belt

I am thinking about attempting to replace my timing belt and drive belts myself, wondering if anyone knows of a good place to find do it yourself instructions/videos on how to do it?

After that I plan on rebuilding the head myself as the first mods i will be doing to the car, so if anyone has any advice/experience with that, i would appreciate being pointed in the right direction as far as where to start, reputable brand for parts, and maybe another source for do it yourself instructions/videos?

Thanks again for your time!

The hardest part it tensioning the belt. It'll take a few tries to get it set right. Just remember you can over tighten and under tighten it so if you set it and the pin wont come out freely, try to feel if the pin is being bent down and its over tensioned, or its bent up and its under tensioned. If you're going to do the head, might as well do the head and timing belt all at once. If you're going to do that you'll need head studs, a head gasket, intake manifold and exhaust manifold gasket, thermostat gasket. Also sending the head to the machine shop, new seals, valvesprings, retainers, and cams if you're going that way.
