Batty200 Build thread. Junk!
Apparently my head is ported and has bronze valve guides. I do have to port the ports on the exhaust mani quite a bit to match the head. I hope the runners aren't too small in the Manifold that it hurts Power. I have a ramhorn manifold if this one restricts power. I hope it doesn't because I love the manifold design.
Manifold is ported. Trying to locate valve stem seals. The bronze guides are larger than stock. My pistons shipped today so I hope to have them by the end of the week. I got my act hdss clutch and flywheel plus MonoLock. I am having a dowel pin hole drilled into flywheel to help keep flywheel in place. I ordered all new studs for the Manifold and O2 housing. I have to drill and helicoil one of the downpipe to O2 housing holes. I made a 1/4 in spacer to takeup the space from the taller deck block so my downpipe isn't tweaked so hard. I have decided to sell my QM 6 leg if anyone wants it. I may be getting a set of RPF1's for my car instead of stock wheels. I am having the valve cover powder coated wrinkle black. Compressor cover powder coated almost Chrome. I am super excited to finish.
Looks good Adam!
Came with a ported head also? lol. (might be a Buschur head - some are not oringed / look for a engravement mark on the side of the head somewhere. if none then not BR)
Your valve reliefs on the pistons look bigger than the ones i got.

The ported head came with the Motor. Are your HD2 pistons 10.5:1?
Also the machine shop said your tq plate is too small a bore for a 4G64. They offered to bore it but I declined since it yours. I will have it back to you Monday. Thanks.

mine are the same ones here http://www.tscomptuned.net/engine.html
10.5:1 yes. maybe i just didn't look good enough at the top of them. these are the off the shelf ones they just released in may.
also you can have them bore the plate if you want it does nothing to the plate. still can use smaller pistons on it!
if not no big deal. I will eventually need it bored anyways.

Somehow I managed to upload out of order but there is progress from start to finish for today! I am going to use my 20G and previous tune and setup to break in the new motor. Switching to a different turbo and speed density and FIC2150cc injectors all on a brand new motor spells trouble to me. I will go a week or two on the old turbo then swap it out after the motor is all set to go.
Well I had the misfortune of bending a valve from valve to valve contact due to a pumped up lifter. The Factory Service Manual says to pump them up full of kero or Diesel. Do not do this with aftermarket cams. I spent an extra few days pulling the head off after it was all done and running on 3 bangers. I got it all back together today and drove Home. I am at wastegate boost on the 20g and it still runs pretty good! After a few more Miles I will put the boost controller on and Crank it up! Then after a few more Miles comes the 6262 setup! Woohoo! I want to break in the clutch and seat the rings before really kicking the crap out of it!
