Batty200 Build thread. Junk!
Well I had the misfortune of bending a valve from valve to valve contact due to a pumped up lifter. The Factory Service Manual says to pump them up full of kero or Diesel. Do not do this with aftermarket cams. I spent an extra few days pulling the head off after it was all done and running on 3 bangers. I got it all back together today and drove Home. I am at wastegate boost on the 20g and it still runs pretty good! After a few more Miles I will put the boost controller on and Crank it up! Then after a few more Miles comes the 6262 setup! Woohoo! I want to break in the clutch and seat the rings before really kicking the crap out of it!
I am going to do some comparisons since I have 1.3 higher compression ratio and a Motor that isn't blown up to are how this 20G really does then I am swapping in the 6262. TSCOMPUSA is getting me a base map for SD and I will be cranking it up. I am glad I put the old stuff on for breaking it in. It fired right up and drove perfect except idle was too high. It took soo much to keep the blown motor running that when it had a bent valve it idled perfect. Onceit was right it idled at 2K. Now a nice lumpy 1k. It even stays on with AC on with no tuned adjustments. At 12psi wastegate boost it still moves better than a stock EVO.
i can do the full tune. we can set it up in person shouldn't take too long. car will rip like a **** for sure. if you want to add more timing after im done you can.
that sucks on the valve id flip out after doing all that work then have to undo it again.

Sounds like a plan. I am sure you can have this right on in a few pulls. I will be doing the turbo swap in a week and a half most likely. Then we can watch this pig Roll out! I turned it up some today and it is a torquey little bastard.
200 miles in and she is running fabulous. I turned the boost back up to high 20's and it pull clean. I had to reinstall EVO scan and ecuflash on my PC so no new virtual Dyno comparisons but hopefully I'll get them tomorrow.
I actually swapped on a set of EVO9 Enkei wheels so that picture isn't 100% current.

Well here is a 4th gear VDR from last Monday. I used VDR only because I accidentally didn't log TPS for a few pulls and the two I did apparently had some fluke in them showing some inflated #'s. Hopefully I can back these up with some VD pulls this weekend on a nice flat road with boost and tps recorded. I think this is a sweet street car setup with the 10.5:1 2.4 and a 20G however I want more power so I will be swapping in my 6262 first week of august after I get home from 9 days at the beach!
Well I swapped in the 6262 and 2150's and BR double pumper setup. I also installed a GrimSpeed 3port and did a speed density conversion. Preliminary VDR #'S was just under 400whp at just under 20psi. Looks promising. This was with a HUGE boost leak as well so the numbers will be much greater tomorrow. I am excited to say the least!
