Hey evodan. I really want to keep this as a build thread so you can email me direct if youd like. Yes a while back i could do a 7kg lighter frame in chromoly, but not really interested in doing them that light now. They really need to be this design we do as most of the evos we deal with these days are on 255-295 tyres and turn corners so thats what im building them for. If you want a basic frame for drag racing im sure theres plenty of companys that can help but im sticking to one design that works. the chromoly front frame is the same weight as my old design mild steel frame as they have thicker machined mounting points etc. You can contact me on rob@racefab.co.nz if you need any more info

Regards rob

started designing some rear hubs for it this week. this one's all tack up and out of the jig to make sure theres no clearance issues.

then ill break the tacks and have all the parts copyied and laser cut so I have a pair ready to jig up and weld

these are 1.5kgs lighter per side but the main thing is they have all the suspension pivot points 25mm lower to help get the car nice and low but not have crazy arm angles

had a chance this week to make some arms.

evo 10 front control arms. these will bring the wheels 20mm forward and 20mm wider track per side over factory, 30mm longer ball joint centres too. also some rear toe arms

started lightening the body shell before the cage going in as a lot of it I wont be able to get once the bars are in place

so far gone is front, centre and rear inner pillar skins, as well as the centre skins behind them, spare wheel well, rear parcel tray, roof, (will be replaced with carbon or alloy) also side sections under rear bumper

also started on the extra clearance for the rear wheels

next will be front tubs, inner sill skins, notched front pillars for part of the areo and remove the extra tunnel skin on the underside

this is a lot of weight out so far and will weigh the total of this once the sills etc are done. ive been told there is close to 40kgs under the sills but i will soon know
