I believe you received a bad batch a few months ago which started the damage you now have. Buy scotch brighting the tank you also removed the zinc coating which added to the demise of your tank.

I would recommend using Stabil 360. It protects all surfaces that are not emerged in fuel. It also works the same as the standard Stabil as a preservative.

Good Luck, Don
Thanks Don. Good info. Ya my dad said the same thing when i told him i used scotch bright. He shook his head no and said i removed the protective coating from the tank

O well live and learn. I always end up screwing myself one way or another with this car.

I will definitely put the Stabil in thanks for the recommendation. Did you get my last email?

I was gonna go to mollies, but i didnt know there was one in Greensfield. thats not to far either. I'll go to Mollies first.

That is a pain. I am glad you didn't have to drop the rear. I was taking the rear out either way when I did the tank I did. I wouldn't have wanted to wrestle it with the rear in there. I don't know how you do it sometimes. You're a small guy but you manhandle some stuff! When you get the new tank in I want a ride!

I used my legs to help balance it lol. im sure it looked funny.

Ya i went to the gym with my one friend for 2 years in a row, so i have decent strength from that still.

I can pick up 4g64 and 4g63 blocks and walk with them also.

You'll have to get a ride in both of em now

I bought another evo over the weekend. I took some pics. Originally i did a lot of work to this car, but the owner had to sell it so i took it off his hands. it is a beautiful evo.

Short mod list consist of:
2005 evo 8 GSR /w 40K on it.
TSComp 2.3 SLW ( manley turbo tuff superlight billet crank & Turbo tuff i-beam rods)
TSComp Head (Kiggly springs/retainers, proport port job, gsc seals, ARP 625+ headstuds
Full Race T3 FP 3582R ball bearing turbo
Tial 44mm WG 1.3 bar
GSC S3 cams
Shep trans ultimate ratio /w 4.11 FD
DTM 3.5" Garrett core FMIC
Exedy triple HD
Buschur double pumper
Buschur ported intake mani & TB
FIC 2150cc inj
and a bunch of other stuff.

I need to change the FMIC & upper pipe and a few things on the car, then it will be perfect. I sprayed the upper pipe today temp with some DEI stuff.

here some crappy iphone pics because im to lazy to use the good camera.

First its going to get tuned on 93oct to see what it makes, then ill put it on e85 later on.

And the silver one is waiting for its gas tank. And you see a customers engine I finished today thats getting ready to ship out & another one in that tote on the ground.

Ya freaky what happened to the tank. But I scrubbed the protective coating off like others said in here, so that triggered it all im sure.

I got better pics now of it I took. I put 21 miles on it today lol.

Nice pick up on the blue evo Tom! Didn't you just finish working on that car for the previous owner recently? I vote sell both evos & buy a GTR!!

I was thinking the same thing. I remember seeing a thread on the tuning results. Very nice pickup. Clean car with premium parts.

Ya this is Cory's old car. I didn't tune it yet, but i will soon on 93octane. I have to finish breaking in the engine & the clutch.

I could buy a GTR in cash and keep both the evos. No need to sell anything. That is the benefit of still living at home haha.

There's not enough land here to hold all these cars though. We have 7 cars now in total.

I've had some offers for the blue car without even trying to sell it so far lol.
