Willub's 03 Evo 8

Hey guys and gals. I just picked up a bone stock (minus some shifter/diff bushings) Silver 03 evo 8 for my daily driver needs Car has 102k miles on it and is really clean.

As you can see, I'm a "Subaru guy". Lol. I bought the sti four years ago as a daily driver and it turned into a dedicated autocross machine. Back then it was between an evo and an sti, so why not have both now? Anyway, some plans for the evo are as follows.

Re-paint the brembos
Update the heater gears/cable stuff
Boost gauge

That's about it for now. Any and all suggestions are welcome of course. Thanks for looking

Nice. Yeah Karltons. The lower piece for the bumper came off after nailing a cone at my last autox and I've been lazy about putting it back on

I got the updated heater gear/lever doohickeys and cable, just need to get around to installing them. Also my CEL popped on yesterday Luckily it's just a P0441, Evap purge flow fault, or whatever lol. Anything that commonly causes this code on these cars? I looked at the gas cap and the seal looks ok to me. Haven't had a chance to look at the associated vac lines yet.

Welcome. Cars look great. Check the lines. Usually that's the problem.

Popped in the new heater lever things. Hoorah for a heater knob that will actually turn! What a terrible design lol. The CEL has hasn't come back on yet either So far I'm liking this thing. It's quite odd not being able to hear the exhaust/engine, so I have some issues with rev matching Might need a cat back exhaust. That's a good excuse right?

...and some headers, turbo, fuel injectors, fuel pump, cams... Yeah I know how this goes

Random stupid question. Are these cars supposed to have a third brake light? It's a law, right? I see a wiring harness going to nothing on the underside of my trunk. Remember, the car had a smaller wing on it that may have contained the light. Is the original supposed to be inside behind/above the back seat? I'm not worried about it, just curious.
