Long Time Coming Stroker Build
Don't know about the rods (maybe for added strength/longevity) and pistons (if they come with a moly skirt coating), but I agree that WPC can help on all the other parts listed. Hell, I just got my cams back from WPC today and decided that since I'm going with a 2.3 that I'm going to get the cylinder bores WPC treated as well lol.
Also, Ruben at socalporting does great work and I can't give him a higher recommendation. He's like the west coast version of Curt Brown

+1 on not cheaping out on machine work, proper 4g63 boring requires a torque plate along with the studs being used an hg installed. I am also getting my crank, rods and main bearings, pistons, pins and all rings WPC coated, I feel like this will be a great benfit both performance wise and longevity vise.

Ruben is a great guy and his work/prices are really hard to beat. I actually just dropped my FP Red off to him last week to be upgraded to a larger platform along with coating and portings. I should have it back this week and it'll be installed. I'm really excited to see how it turns out!!
P.S Thanks for the shaft seals Erik! Not a single boost leak on the car right now.

So, I decided to upgrade my turbo via socalporting. I was on the fence about doing this but after inspection and a few issues with the old one I bit the bullet and just did it. Ruben gave me my options and I went with a larger billet wheel that would come close to an FP Black. The turn around time was four days and boy was I happy.

Here's some shots of the engine assembly. This was the best part of the build because I was able to turn some music on in the garage and sit down while I worked. I spent two days cleaning all the parts and assembling the new motor. The part that took the longest was the cleaning.

Cams installed

Manifold and Turbo mocked up

Valve cover installed (Preping/Painting this thing sucked!!!!)

So, engine went in fairly easy but I did have a hard time with the transfercase at the time. I had set the engine in place and the cable that was holding the transfer case out of the way had let loose just enough causing it to catch on the crossmember. I had to lift the engine again and then tie the transfer case back up. Once it was tied up and out of the way everything went together and it was all buttoned up within three days.
Took this just before it went in

Engine is in!

Painted SD intake pipe

I didn't get many photo's of the install because I was tired and ready to get this thing up and running. I still had a thousand and one things to do and no time to do it.

Been a while since I did an update as work and life have been crazy!!
Car has over 1300 miles on it and zero issues thus far (knock on wood). Tom at TSComptuned has finished the final E85 tune and MAN I'm happy with the outcome. I was nervous that I would not be happy with the numbers and want to go for more but that is not the case. I'll be doing a review on my thoughts and experience with Tom soon..Which was great!!! I still have a small to do list (install suspension and alignment) and once that's done I'll start to tear down the stock motor to see how it looks in which I'll post up in here to show.
