Here we go, it might not suit everyone especially the Evo, Mitsubishi purists but this is a world first as far as I am aware. I'm currently in the middle of transplanting a built VR38 motor in to an Evo 8 shell. The car will remain AWD and should have much improved weight distribution and a small increase in power over the 4G63 engine it used to have.

The intended use will be street, strip and circuit trackdays when finished.

In the standard evo engine and drivetrain layout there is a huge amount of weight in front of the front axles, in this configuration there is a lot less weight in front of the front axle and a lot more behind.

The initial scale readings with the motor and trans in place show a reduction of approximately 100 kgs at each from wheel compared to a stock setup evo.
