Exhaust question?

Not an evo but one of these days I'll have one. Will an evo 8 rear cat bolt up fine on a base model such as an oz? Trying to do some things along my exhaust and really don't want to fork out a couple hundred for a cat. And test pipes don't pop up for the n/a 2.0 like that. Will an evo test pipe work fine?

If I’m not mistaken the flanges in the Evo vs lancer cats are not the same so it won’t bolt right in

that is unfortunate if true. I've never been underneath an evo not know anyone so i can't confirm myself lol. However if by some chance they're the same then I could just get a test pipe for one and be great lol. Too bad rrm went under and had **** service because i know they sold an na one

do ya know if the 2002 4-2-1 headers fit on the 03s? Used to be able to find a header for these things easily now I'm not sure of the trustworthiness of some sites/sources.

As far as I have figured out most of the 2002-2006 parts are interchangeable. On most parts but I always go and cross reference the part #s on Mitsubishi sight to be sure. Mine had an aftermarket exhaust already on. But there's a recall on the PCMs on most Lancers cause they've been frying the Cad converters. Just fyi. Hope it helps.

I have a test pipe and it's flanges are just a hair off and put stress past it. Just aas curious because if a evo cat will fit then an evo test pipe will fit lol

02 ES to LS suspension

Okay so I am far from being expert on anything in this forum but I love fast cars and got my 1st project / daily driver car 3yrs ago it's an 2002 **what we thought I had was a LS for the past 3 years BUT just found out it's an ES! 🫣🤯 *** whenever I went to redo the complete front end and start fixing some of the things that have been abused on it over the years by past owner.
80% of the parts were working seamlessly yet some didn't. We just thought maybe it was an order mess up but turns out after a few times of returning\replacing parts it was not a order misshap the car is a different model than what the DMV, insurance company and us believed it was.
😮‍💨😵‍💫GO FIGURE... 🤦. ANYWAAAYS...
The struts, control arms, sway bars, tie rods (upper and lower), callipers, break lines, break booster, and a few other parts so far all swapped over seamlessly. When we did the rear and front hus and bearings is where the part matching confusion started and then the CV Axles those all didn't match and had me ready to pull out all my hair trying to figure out what was happening lol 🤷🤯. So I hope this helps you.
if you wanna trade some parts from ur spare ES for some LS stuff I have let me know. Happy to help out a fellow penny saver. I know the struggle is real I'm a mom of 2 and trying to get my junkyard rescue looking like a sweet ride I know she can be all while "ballin on a budget". Lol 🤣

SIDE QUESTION........
Can anyone possibly tell me how to fix my speedometer almost constantly the second I start pressing the gas it goes from 0-60 and sticks. If I bang on the plastic on the cluster plastic cover it will sometimes start to work normal but mostly goes right back to 60. Any suggestions are greatly 👍 appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

you may have to put a new cluster into it. They're very easy to remove but idk where to honestly find one. Despite working as a professional mehanic lol. Workin with a budget is always the smart thing to do!

I know an old man who has a junk yard 😉 so I have me a small but helpful honey hole when he comes across anything I may need. Plus there's a few people down here in Louisiana and Texas that have some laying and rolling around from past floods and hurricanes.I won mine in a bet from my uncle when I found it out in the country in the woods where it was sitting for like 7yrs on his small farm. Lol And here I am making her prettier and faster when I can.
