Evo conversion
Evo conversion
Hey guys, I知 buying a 07 lancer with a blown engine for $200 that I want to rally with. How hard is it to put an evo awd system in it. Would do all the work myself so just seeing if it can be done. I知 in Australia btw. Thank you
It痴 kinda one of those things that if I知 being honest, If you have to ask, it痴 probably not attainable.
With enough time and money though, anything is possible.
Unless you have mad fabrication skill, it痴 not a worth while swap to consider, would be better off paying the extra money to start with an Evo.

To kind of echo what GSX said, it just isn't worth it; even if you have all the skills needed.
Have you rallied before? If not, swap another stock motor in there, get a cage and go have a blast on the cheap while you figure out where you want to actually fit in the classes.
Once you have done it for a year or 2, you'll have a better feel for how you want to drive and most importantly, how much cash you are willing to sink into the hobby lol.

Keep it FWD and put in a 4g64 with a evo/kia head. Bolt up a 9 turbo and you have a great setup for a 300+ hp engine with no turbo lag.
