hey everybody... it is with a heavy heart that i announce that i must part with my dearest S14. times are a changin and i need something reliable and comfortable for long commutes between home and hospital and school.
primarily since i have no money.. after the spending season and paying back all my debts.. sad to say.. im back at square none. .
in any case.. ive invested over $17,000 alone into this car after saving up for years and with my own hard-earned moneys. the car itself..when i bought it was $7200 with 82k after i picked it up in Norfolk, VA. 2 years ago. Figure in total. thats upwards of about $25000 already. which is a lot of money.
getting to the point.. i would like something fast in stock form but maintaining reliablility and class and sexy looks of course..
so up for grabs is my daily driver.. heres the specs of my one and only..
Mauve Avenger

-Fuel Gauge is not so accurate. Full tank = 1/4 on gauge
-Oil Pressure Gauge on cluster went out after tranny swap
-Runs a little hot. Definitely recommend a vented hood.
-Need to hold throttle for 2 min on a cold startup or will die out. [needs a Tune..not tuned for Cold Start]
-Air Conditioner works.. but since it's soo hot under the hood. it will tend to overheat a little. This can be solved by moving the condenser or switching it out to a smaller condenser . and again the vented hood. Could use a recharge probably too
-Power steering line has a leak
-One of the puller fans fell off.. plastic ziptie thing snapped but fan is fine.

not a problem..

what i failed to mention was something i mentioned on all the other forums i posted this ad on.

Southern Car Customs in Savannah GA is willing to cover most, if not all of the listed problems above under Warranty. George Meyers, the owner of the shop personally assured me that anyone who purchases this car, only needs to let him know, send the car down (approximately $1 / mile ..i paid about $500 shipping one way from NY to GA door to door), and give him the necessary time to make things right with the car. So figure upon buying this car, the only investment you need to make (shipping aside) is time . I would personally ship the car down myself .. but the thing is i do not have another car other than this. My original Daily driver caught on fire a few weeks back (dont ask). so since then, this has been my daily driver. all the listed problems have been relayed to George and he's confident that they can solve the problems accordingly. Dr. Tweak himself, (if you don't know who he is head over to www.PhoenixTuning.com and you will see that he is well knowledged and qualified to take care of anything mildly related to toyota) will be the one working on it. I have obviously met and worked with both George and Dr. Tweak and I gotta say..hands down these are two of the most reliable guys i've ever met.. and wouldn't have anyone else work on my car. So with that said. be assured that I'm not selling a lemon or something that i wouldn't trust my own life in. Just times like this i can't be without a car (work and school.. extremely important at this stage). And if it wasn't obvious enough RWD and the snow just do not mix. I wanted to try AWD for a change. so i wouldn't have to have my dad drive me to work / school when it was all snow and ice outside. thank you crazy tri-state weather.

any questions feel free to call me up personally.. im up and available at all hours of the day and night. if you dont get through.. don't hesitate to leave a message.. and YES... that is Rick Astley on my voicemail thanks. haha (wtf)

and here's the number to the shop in Savannah GA for reference

(912) 961-9222 George
(404) 474-4573 Dr. Tweak (Phoenix Tuning)

Great car man! Theres another shop in GA called Mainstream that does the swap for much cheaper and has done at least 6 of them (10k, includes labor engine, trans, full TBE, FMIC, AEM EMS, tuning, etc.) they only do them in S13's mainly due to emissions reasons. I'd love to do this swap one day.

i actually picked this shop over Mainstream for a few reasons. There have been a lot of complaints about "Turbo Dave" and Mainstream Performance.. about how many botched swaps there are and how their mounts aren't as up to par as other ones out there. I have seen at least two 2JZ swaps on ebay 1 S14 and 1 S13 for sale on ebay both with swaps done by Mainstream Performance .. both with respective problems: ie. Blown Turbos.. tranny needs a rebuild... rear main seal leaking.. no p/s .. no a/c... stuff like that. at the time most were relatively new to the swap. figure Dr. Tweak has been doing Tech 2's engine wiring harnesses for how long now versus Mainstream. Also heard on forums 2jzswap.com among others about how Mainstream Performance's wiring harness is nowhere near as good as Dr. Tweaks. I don't mean to bash on Mainstream Performance.. it's just that i picked Southern Car Customs over them for some of the listed reasons above. I'm very pleased with the choice i made. George among the others at SCC have held their word to the T about anything and every bit of business that has happened between us. I don't know how Turbo Dave works.. but I can call George on his personal cell phone at any given time if need be. It's a very professional shop that does very personal business and i like that very much.

Mainstream Performance may have a nice website and all... but ill take integrity over commercial flash
