Their pipe isn't aluminum from what i can tell. My steel pipe probably weighs 4lbs if that. I would not be concerned as the 7-10whp gains more than make up for the extra few lbs.

The new version of the pipe totally gets rid of the turbo outlet rubber coupler so that there is no flex/loss of turbo response. There are better gains than the first prototype we made and the one that Joe copied. Production is almost done on the first lot of them and pics will be up shortly (figure late this week).

It is professionally powdercoated steel to promote durability and a rather bulletproof finish. Our pipe is only 1.3 pounds heavier than the stock piece. Part of that is the steel material, but there is also the fact that the flex-prone rubber coupler is replaced with metal for a great gain in boost response. I think most would agree that the power gains/boost response and reduced price are worth the 1.3 pounds. I will update this thread when everything is ready. Thanks.

I didn't copy anything. I had my pipe done months before you guys did. I just didn't talk about it until I saw your being made. I appreciate someone making a low cost alternative, I don't appreciate getting slammed as copying yours. The turbo outlet is 1.75" and improving over that will be difficult even if you have a pipe that goes directly to the turbo outlet. The flow starts at 1.75", and even if you go 2.25" from there then you still have a taper. Eliminating the stock rubber section will produce very little gains, I doubt they would even be noticeable.

I will avoid the cheap shots from you, although any way you look at it is a piece of pipe. Its no miracle here.

I do apologize. We posted pics of our pipe and then you posted a very similar pic a couple days afterwards. I meant no offense. The turbo outlet is indeed a major bottleneck. Our piece could be 2.25" throughout if not for the need to mate up to that pipe. A benefit to our piece is that if you upgrade your turbo to one with a larger turbo outlet, you can simply cut off the 1" long section that is 1.75" and you now have a full 2.25" lower pipe.

Couplers flex, especially ones as long as the stock piece (8 inches) so reducing the flex directly out of the turbo does indeed help with increased response. If you've ever seen a high hp turbo car dyno, you will notice that all the couplers start to balloon from the sheer pressure and those couplers are only 3" long or so.

I went to the website, and the price listed is $145 for the lower ic pipe. When I clicked on paypal, the price is $175. What is the $30 extra for?

My fault, seems I duplicated the upper pipe Paypal button. It's fixed. Unsure if you were going to pay but wait until you see the pics before ordering just to make sure its exactly what you desire.
