So this is the part that, to replace, requires you to take your dash all apart to get to the unit by the firewall?

yes, night and day difference once you do the full swap.

I need to replace the cable and gears on my 03 still, waiting on parts to come in. If those end up not fixing my temp control issue, I'll be in touch to get this from you if you still have it.
