How does that work with 4G63 hydraulic head?

You shim them to 0 clearance, and it gives you 100% accurate cam timing readings by place a dial indicator on the valve. A hydraulic lifter that is not "pumped up" with oil pressure will give inaccurate readings...

Technically any block that has been decked (well head technically) should have the cams degreed. But, especially when using a 4g64 bottom end with an evo head (esp. a decked one) the only "right" way to time it is to degree the cams.

If I wanted to run them it wouldn't be bad. It's kinda a lot for something I'm going to use for 2-4 hours and never use again, especially since I only need 2 of them...

Find a good machine shop, take them a lifter, and have them turn 2 of them out of round bar stock. You'll need shims if you go that route since they won't be adjustable. Probably cost you 2 hours of machine time and materials..
