I have for sale a MAP Stage 5 Ported Evo 8 Head. Here's the catch, it has a crack in cylinder 1 on a water jacket. I am told it is repairable if you take out the guide and weld it up. The motor never blew up or anything, the head just cracked. This is a bare head, but again it is MAP's stage 5 port job. It is +1mm over and the Egr has been plugged. It will comes with rocker arms and lifters. Asking $400 shipped. Repairs should be less than $200 and should be done by a professional. Don't waste my time asking me a bunch of stupid questions, they will be ignored. I will clean it before it is shipped, it's been sitting around the shop.
Not trying to ruin your sale, but heads usually crack in the ports due to over porting which makes the wall too thin, causing the crack. Did you try contacting MAP about this? I would be asking for a replacement head. You spent a lot of money to get stuck with a paper weight...
Yes I'm quite aware of why it happened. Been discussed on all my other for sale posts, guess just not this one. Long story short I don't have the paperwork of proof because the guy I bought it from screwed me over and actually moved to another state. I took it to a head shop, he said a good welder could fix this. He tried but he said he wasn't the best welder.
