you're not even getting my point.

I still have a tablet that is around 2-3 years old and its still fast and does everything I wanted it for. Does it play the very latest games on google play, probably not. Hell we have Apple Air at work, those arent getting replaced anytime soon. I'll just tell my boss its 3 years old and we should ditch them, phfttt.

I'm not trying to sell you on this, obviously its not for you and obviously you prefer Audio quality above everything else. My ears aren't as sharp, the android will sound as good as factory to me, ive never been a big "audio" person. Its just weird to compare a 3 year old chip saying its out of date while using a radio that contains a chip that's at least 3 years old.

What radio do you use now and what new CPU is in there? THATS MY POINT!!!!!
factory Rockford Fosgate system in the OS - wife's car, she doesnt care about nav. dont know what the CPU is and dont care, because all it needs to handle is audio.

Who cares about JBL carplay, Android Auto for $399? I bet the screen is tiny. Still more expensive than the one I got. I do not like Android auto.
ok

ok
Well I don't really care what CPU is in the android radio because of the similar reason you give. Its enough to handle the radio. You only seem to care about CPU specs when it comes to the Chinese android radios.

I don't understand why you are combating his opinion so much? You asked for an opinion and that's what you got.

I personally wouldn't get outdated technology either. But it's what floats your boat...

It's like having the option to getting a iPhone 6s but instead getting an iPhone 5 running the latest iOS. It'll work but be slow as hell.

I know that, Thanks.

I was mainly asking what you thought of the style. I just assumed everyone thought the hardware was ok as I did and im surprised its gotten so many negative posts. The technology will be fine for me for the foreseeable future.

How about this, I'll do a post on when I get it. I get that its not for everyone.

i was actually trying to help, but i guess you already ordered it.

i watched the video, and it does have some nice features - i liked how it displayed some of the factory info (door open, etc - except for the Climate temp bug), the big screen, and i'm guessing, the ability to add the Torque app.

my mom bought a "Chinese Android TV" box for her Florida condo, and its pretty bad. it works, but it got horribly laggy and glitchy. was guessing that this would be the same deal ...

when you do get it, and its rooted, add the "Viper4Android" app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2191223
i use this in my Infiniti to overcome the crappy EQ the Bose amp applies - it makes a *HUGE* difference in audio quality.

Thanks I'll look into the viper. Hopefully I have better luck then what you had with the android tv. I looked at a few videos on youtube and all seemed ok thats why the hardware didnt concern me, some had a few glitches but I could live with. I'll create a post when I get it installed. At the very least I will have a very expensive bezel I could fit a bigger radio, alpine, newer android, ect.
