My girlfriends Ralliart is making a blow off valve type noise after accelerating heavy and letting off the throttle.
I have tightened all the hoses and checked for cracks or damage and couldn't see any. I do get a slight air hiss when romping on the throttle a bit. Some times there is a little vibration noise but it sounds like that might just be the dust shield.
The stock BOV can be heard. Is not totally silent.
A video will be of big help for us.
This. Mines not very noticeable it's like a whistling sound, but it's there.
Just from what I've read and people have said the plastic BOV's tend to leak, but as new as your car is(I'm assuming the one in your profile is the one your talking about), that shouldn't really be the problem. Maybe it's just something your not used to, but again a video or sound clip would be great.
*Can always get evo x or evo 9 bov it gets rid of that plastic one in exchange for a metal one. Both can be had very cheap, plus if your like me I dislike all the black under the hood so will give some contrast to all the black plastic
sry couldn't really find a thread on here so this is the closet one i could find. i am new to the Ralliart. i just purchased a 2013 Ralliart and i want to change out the BOV. i went to this sight(lancershop) and these two are under the Ralliart section. now i am wondering will the universal one work for the Ralliart or am i going to have to purchased the one for like $200.oo more if any one has knowledge of these and installed either or let me know (its pretty simple and fast to install right?)
HKS SSQ Version 4 Blow Off Valve - Lancer Ralliart 2009-2010 -- Sale price: $436.95
or
HKS SSQ Version 4 Universal Blow off Valve ---- Sale price: $262.95
^The problem is you're not going to be able to install the hks universal bov without the adapter kit (like what the full kit comes with). Either get the full kit, or look into other bov's. Also depends if you want to VTA.
ok so basically if i want this one for the rallliart i will have to fork over the extra.. thanks for the quick reply and what is VTA??
Vent to atmosphere. You'll want to run a search to read up on it if you're not sure. Just a heads up my X had idle issues with that valve and vta (stock tune, came with the car). Some have the issue... some don't. Hit or miss. Best bet is to recirculate. But thats my opinion. But anyway... up to you. There's plenty of info out there if you want to look into it.
just get a EvoX BOV and call it a day, no need to waste that much money on a BOV, put it towards something else, like turbo upgrade or evox intercooler and piping.
If you get a VTA blowoff valve, it is highly recommended to get a tune to account for it. The car from factory is tuned for 100% recirculation, and it could run rough and have idle problems. Best bet is to go with a bypass valve, or the Synapse DV (but good luck finding one).
Go Fast Bits T-9033 is very accessible in terms of costs and you can set the % of re circulation.
I agree that getting the EVOX metal one is the wisest choice.
With less than $300 ($15 if you know someone with a tactrix) you can get a tactrix cable and a boost pill. Load up a GST tune and that car will become something other than noisy.
thanks .M. ill get it next week and ill let you know how it is maybe add a pic of video this will be the first mod id put on it. next is either exhaust/muffler package or the AMS intercooler package
