Well that is good that you where able to do that, for sure.
I still stand by my second point. $700 extra for a known healthy unused OEM crate motor is better than unknown health used motor, to me at least.
Oh trust me I would have loved to, I'm just not in the financial situation at the moment. The specs they sent me look great though. Leak down: 2,3,3,3%
season as in a used iron block is better than a new one because after it has warped (they all do a little bit under normal conditions) they are less inclined to keep warping. Drag racers love em.
I guess one way to put it is the uneven stresses from the casting process due to cooling unevenly (if only a little) are worked out during the normal heat cycles of driving a car to and from work every day for thousands of miles.
Obviously they are machined true before being used.
I dont know if aluminum does the same. Different metal with different thermal characteristics.

That, unfortunately, is beyond my scope of knowledge lol. Perhaps someone with an engineering background can chime in.
Engine is delivered, and looks like the clutch that was in my car is ****. Kinda sucks. Its a Competition Clutch Stage 3 Series 2600. Only had it for 10,000 miles no launches or track days, mostly DD. They're putting an Exedy Single in for me.
They should be bale to dyno tune a new clutch. The concern with a new clutch is slipping it during a launch, or shift at full power. But it shouldn't slip just doing third gear pulls..

I think thats more of just a comfortable time frame to check for leaks and such. Just to make sure everything is mated the way it should be.
Not too bad! A month of downtime?! Can't beat that imo.
Not at all! Chad and his team have been super helpful the whole time. Part of the wait was waiting for parts to get delivered too, so shuffling between my car and all the other work they have going on, I'm really impressed.
