I'm wanting to get either the rota grid (18x9.5 +38) or the rpf1 (18x9.5 +38). I am on Bilstein HDs and not coils; I also have swift sports. I was thinking of running 265/35/18 with these wheels. Did some searching first on the forum and found a post from wheelsdude saying that the rota in that size does not clear the caliper in the front and requires extensive fender mods, spacers, and camber. Which is weird because I contacted them directly and was told that it would clear and fit with a 255/35/18 with some rolling in the front.
Did some searching around for the rpf1 in the same size with the same size tire and found that it should fit with some minor rolling and no spacers.
Next I put the sizes in the calculator and it looks like they fit. I just want to know can I fit these in those sizes in these wheels? If not what do I need to fit them?
I don't want to buy some coils just to fit tires and I am willing to get rolled but I don't want to have to do all kinds of fender mods to fit a wheel/tire.
My car has 18x9.5 +35 Konig Milligrams and 265/35r18. The clear great with the rears fully rolled and a 10mm front spacer for the inside of the wheel/tire to clear the strut. With the RPF1's you'll a 23mm spacer to clear the brake caliper in the front, and that will take care of the clearance to the strut. You may notice some rubbing on the rear part of fenderwell, but that is taken care of with a heat gun, and coaxing the fender liner out of the way. Definitely go for the 265's, they're an awesome fitment.
Can't find much information on Work Emotion 11r in a 18x9.5 +30 offset. But I'm looking at set and I want to make sure it clears on lowering springs Any advice?

Ill do a bit of a search for you but regarding the size you can expect this:
18x9.5 +30 running a 255/35 or 265/35. Front fitment is a no worry issue except for some liner rub at lock positions. (providing the ride height is not too low. Need some finger gap up front. Not sure about the caliper clearance. Spacer may be needed!
The rears will need some work. Expect a fender roll & a light pull to properly fit a 265. Bumper bolt will have to be moved aft. With the 255, may just need a nice tight roll but no rear fender pull
This is based on running less than -1.9 degrees of rear camber & a no fender rub. Full rear suspension articulation

Youre right. The info on the Emotion in +30 is very light. I did find this thread on a guy running the Emotion +20. The pics were removed but based on the comments the fit was terrible as I would expect
See post no. 28 where a guy posted a pic of the Emotion CR +30. Front spacer was required
FYI
Here are the rota g forces 18x9 +30, on swift sports, -1 camber up front, on hd bilsteins, wrapped in hankook all weather 255/35/18. No rubbing, no fender work.

I would have recommended a 3/4 roll of the rear fender but if youre not getting any rub during a hard compression then youre OK
More help please.......CE28N 18x9.5 +22 what kind of camber am I looking at? tires are 245/40 too
Well, couple of comments. 1st, This arrangement of the +22 w/the 245/40 can certainly work but its very aggressive. A tight rear fender roll & a fender pull, bumper bolt relocate will be needed. No more than -1.9 rear camber please. If you you dont plan on doing that level of rear fender work, I would recommend finding a more EvO friendly wheel
Front fit will be OK w/some liner rub, but no spacers on top of the +22 please
2nd, We never want to fit based on camber. Always trying to keep the camber spec within the performance envelope
Would rather see you w/more positive offset, but I understand those +22's look good, so I "get it"

Any other questions/comments, let me know
THank you for the advice! I am definitely not into the stance game and want functional camber. Just saw a great deal on a set and was about to pull the trigger but sounds like not anymore

Hey, dont want to steer you away from that, but it takes work to make these aggressive wheels fit correctly. Let me share a photo of my set-up. This is 17x9.5 +30 running Federal 265/40's (they run 275 wide)
Had to do all the fender work to the rears. Your +22 w/the 245 overlays very similar to my setup

I have an Evo 8 lowered on coilovers and currently have Work Emotion CR 18x9.5 +20 with 255/35/18. The fenders are rolled but I don't think they are pulled. I would like to change my wheels to Enkei RPF1 and Im not sure what I should go with. My activities are 90% road driving and 10% track. I want an aggressive look. I was thinking about going with 17x10 +18F and +38 R with 255/40/17 or should I go with the 17x9.5 or the same size as my current setup? If so what offset would you recommend without having to do too much fender work. I have been through so many threads and I cant decide. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Hi Bryan.
The +20 offset w/any wheel is really frowned upon by those in the function over form group.
As an example of my 2 setups. Street setup is Rota P45R 17x9.5 +30 running Federal 265/40's (these tires run 275 wide)
Track set up is: Advan RGII 17x9 +29 running a Nitto 275/40. Heres a pic of Rota set up which is close to what youre looking at
To get my setup to fully clear, we had to do a 3/4 roll of the rear fender lip & a slight fender pull along w/removing the rear splash guards. The trick is to fully clear as noted in the pic below. Zero rub is the goal!
Let me know if this example gives you an idea of what size you can run & the work required. The shallower the offset (i.e. +28 vs +38) will determine how much rear fender work will be required

The previous owner put the Work Emotions on. I want to get a set of RPF1's so I wanted to know what is the best size for an aggressive look and right tire size. Thanks

One of most popular 17" sets is the following:
17x9.5 +38 front & rear (20mm spacer required up front). With this you can rotate the tires vs running the +18 RPF1 up front & the +38 in the rear
