Evo 8 very light mods low mileage 91oct very high elevation

I tuned a very lightly modded Evo I thought id share here. Later after the tune I learned it only had 13,000 original miles.

The car is from the mountains of Arizona, and all that's available is 91 octane fuel. After tuning the 91 octane, I asked the owner if he wanted to add an octane booster and make a 2nd map for cheap for more power. To my surprise he had a case of Torco at his house, so I had him put the Torco in, and fill the tank full of 91.

The vehicle is at 5400ft elevation, Which of course drastically affects power output, and the temps were also almost 60F which also doesn't help us.

After adding the octane booster we were able to extract a good 40whp or more, which made it well worth the added effort to tune with a 2nd map on a fuel additive.

Mods are:

Stock block / Stock cams / Stock turbo /Stock injectors (86%)
Grimmspeed 3 port & mbc
ETS SD intake
Tial Q BOV
Tomei titanium tbe - Tomei extreme outlet v2 downpipe - Tomei titanium test pipe
ETS lower intercooler pipe
Muse upper intercooler pipe with stock battery routing
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Tephra v7 Speed density /w ecuboost

Graph and pic of car below:

Next mod will be an STM mid muffler to quiet the car down, which ill share the power difference of this so others can see how much if any it affects power.

The car really needs some cams also!

That's a ton of power for +$25/tank.

You put in a little more boost up front, then a little less fuel throughout. Guessing there's a bunch more timing too?

Between Torco and all the competitors (VP, RACE-GAS, Royal Purple, BOOSTane, etc), are any better or worse? I need a solution to the $10/gallon VP100 I have to buy at the pump at the race track for HPDE.

Torco actually works, where as the other bottled stuff you find next to Torco at the store doesn't really work well.

Straight race fuel / ethanol is way better then any kind of additive. What would be better then this is probably e40 tune or something in the 40% ethanol range granted the vehicle had the fuel pump and injectors to support it.

Be careful with Torco, it coats everything and kills 02 sensors fairly quickly.

Honestly have used VP Octanium and Torco dare to say over 100 bottles.

VP Octanium works better Race gas where I live is 150.00 USD for 5 gallons and no E85. Torco works well also but rather use VP Octanium. With these octane booster we usually run a half filled tank and go to work.

Usually good for 2*-3* of timing and 2-3 PSI.

Nice thread for tuning on a minimum modded car. If you were going to toss injectors on and re-tune on the 91 octane, what injectors would you use ? FIC 750-760 plug n play ?
