I wish I could use my current Monstersports titanium heat shield with some minor modifications, but custom heat shield sounds great too.
Ace33joe, and all others interested. Just ordered this one today, I will post pics of the install once its here. I have spoken with him several times, and he assures me it fits stock manifold bolt holes and location, So any manifold that uses stock heat shield mounting, he will customize you one for it.

Like this?? It's a Monster Sport Ti shield with the FP manifold. It fits but needs a little coaxing. The shield sits on the the #4 runner, as you can see in the image there's a small dark heat spot on the manifold. No rattling though. The diameter of these runners causes the manifold to sit high enough over stock to interfere with the shield a little. Other than that, no complaints!

I had the exact same issue with my FP manifold and Monster Sport shield, fit perfectly on the factory manifold but not so well on the FP one, had to run 3/16"spacer on the no.4 runner mount to get the thing to fit nicely, even then the shield had to be coxed into place.

I coated both my OEM heathshield and the O2 housing heat sheld with Cerakote. Looks great and helps keep heat down too.

Also, the OP should just get a 65mm TB. Not even saying to get ours (although that would be a good choice), but the Skunk isn't worth the hassle IMHO.

Erik, was going to. I called early summer, and was told you were out, and would not have any in or fixed before end of summer. I ordered the Skunk2 at the time trying to fix an issue, which was a bad choice. I could not return it. So, I decided to go through the process of porting it and trying to fix it to work right. I would love to have one of your TB's. Maybe work out a deal on one. Let me know.

Glad to hear that Monstersports heat shield fits with some modifications.

Bolt holes on mine are already a bit enlarged to fit custom bolt-posts for my short runner manifold.

I guess I can try some spacers too, any experience with Tomei heat shield? which also looks great and cheaper due to stainless steel rather than titanium material.

I've had the Tomei shield with the FP manifold as well. It does look nice but I still prefer the raw titanium look of the Monster Sport shield better...and the fact that I wait 2 months or so for it to be made and delivered! I still have the Tomei shield and a stock one in case I feel like changing things up on the fly.

It fits but like others have said about different shields, it did need a little coaxing and hand-forming to get the holes lined up due to the added thickness of the runners. I believe I added small washers under the shield to aid in clearance. Still looked good though!

Oh wow, you have both!

Thanks for the pictures and sharing your experiences!

It seems Monstersports one covers a bit more than Tomei in addition to better heat shielding material.

Agreed. The Monster is just bad *** and titanium, lighter and seems to be a slightly thinner sheet material. It also looks more pleasing by shape and area coverage. It's also much rarer.

The Tomei doesn't cover quite as much area and is heavier, but possibly with a thicker gauge material. It also looks pretty being polished if that's your thing.

I'll stick with the Monster Sport.

Installed. Easy, painless, and looks great. Did have to shape the front tab by the radiator, but like I said, look for your self.

Here is a pic of the upper radiator hose. Mine rests on the shield slightly due to the BOV I am running and it pushes the upper radiator hose downward due to fitment. This may not happen with yours,

Looks great.

Not easy to see from the picture, but any clearance issue between upper radiator hose?

Also how necessary it would be to have some side (vertical) shields? Seems like this one is made of one sheet of metal without side coverage.

It does have more coverage than most aftermarket or JDM pieces near engine head side, which is good as we do not have anti-lag ports!
