IL/WI: Ski/Board Meet
What:
Pretty much speaks for itself. Whether you have never been or a pro, just get out and hit the slopes. Great opportunity for fun and for some interesting pics.
When:
Saturday January 21 (11- ?)
Where:
Chestnut (http://www.chestnutmtn.com)
Addy/Directions:
FROM CHICAGO ON I-90
Take the Galena exit at Rockford onto Highway 20 west. Follow 20 west to Elizabeth, IL. Three miles west of Elizabeth is the junction of 20 and 84. Take 84 south for approximately 5 miles to the city limits of Hanover, IL. Turn right at the ski area sign onto Blackjack Road. Follow Blackjack Road 8 miles to our entrance.

For those that have not traveled on Business 20, it is often full of cops so please drive smart
Cost:
Lift Tickets: $40
Rental: $20
Meeting Spot:
I suggest we meet right by the bunny hill since it is right infront of where you come out after getting rental gear

Chestnut is probably the best place to go skiing/snowboarding around here. Totally worth the drive...if u're not driving
i advise u guys to carpool as much as u can cause it's about 3-4 hours from the chicagoland area..well, that was the case with a coach bus.
for beginners, there's a nice easy slope on the right side, and it's pretty long too. it was fun ripping through with the snowboard there when there were clearly signs that said "Slow Down"
dont worry, i didnt cause anyone trouble..
but have fun if you guys go! me and my friends are planning to go to Devil's Head on wednesday!
