Thrown a rod out the block!!!(with pics)

(7/3/07)Gez what guys???? My extended warranty covered everything!!!!(after I told them I'm getting a Lawyer) I'm getting my car back this saturday! total bill is over 7G
got the car @34000 miles its 37000 miles now.
check the compression last month and it was reading low on my cylinder 4 @135psi the rest were 160psi. (does this caused the damaged?)
conclusion of the shop: My rod bolts came lose!

heres what happen:

I was driving home...from a stop light at first gear i heard a loud noise then followed by a huge smoke under the hood!!!!......towed in to my house then we see ....My 4th piston rod thrown out the engine block!!! when we checked my engine light cause...it was only saying P0300 code. I will post pics tomorrow. We will check my head if its damaged too... I still want to know also what is the cause???
I need an advise...if i should get 2.3 or still 2.0? does anyone knows how much will it cost? i am not sure if the crank is still okey...but i guess i should get a new one anyway...I wanna built it for drag.

now tell us the truth. you were stopped at a light and took off in first, then you revved it to 7800 and boom. Right?

Saying your wife and baby were in the car doesn't say much. Saying you were at approximately 50% throttle @ 5000 rpms says a whole lot more.

Did you buy the car used? Might have been badly abused by the previous owner.

no doubt!...i rushed when i got this car...i should have waited. Just got this mar 22nd. i think the 1st owner didnt brake it in right. When i 1st got this...went to mitsu the next day for oil change and they know the car's history....said that it has some issues about the cylinder four. i knew this was gonna happen but not today! im getting a short block maybe from AMS or Buschur or Jackson auto machine shop. but for now im still hoping that the head is fine!

If there is history about cylinder #4 and that is the one that is down try to get it fixed under warranty. Try to save your self the 6k atleast.

^i was thinking about that...but i have to put back all my stock parts.<<this is my 1st option

2nd option:
I have purchased an extended warranty not from mitsubishi.(they are not as strict as the mitsu)My warranty will do it as long as its factory parts. I already talked to one of the shop here. I was thinking of getting the 2.0 factory block (off course) but once i got them i will sell all the internals and get the 2.0 stroker kit. basically labor is free but need to sell the internals of the block to help me with the new AMS or Buschur 2.0 stroker kit.

might be a stupid question: can i get a IX engine and put it on my 8? will it fit the evo 8 5 speed tranny?(just wondering...)

I don't think there is a market for brand new stock internals.

you will also need to get the IX ECU and IX wiring harness to get the IX engine to work in your VIII.
