No Boost leak, car is boosting at 16-17psi MAX

Hello,

I have searched the forums for about a week now with boost issues that other people are having, but I think my problem is different from others.

My car is boosting at 16-17psi then it goes down to 15psi and holds to redline.

The car did run 20-21 psi last year just fine with a cheap ebay mbc I had on for a while, and decided to switch it off to a hallman pro rx MBC and now I have boost problems.

My car is still running with stock turbo and stock waste gate with hallman pro rx boost controller. I have hooked up the source from the turbo nipple instead of doing the BOV-method connection, all vacuum lines are also replaced with new ones. There are a few posts in doing the waste gate mod to turn a bolt/nut a couple times to up the boost, havent tried that yet but do you think that can fix the problem that i have right now? I plan to get this issue fixed so I can install my 10.5 and new o2 housing. Looking to boost my car up to 22-23psi again!

Check your egr valve. The hose could be off.

bump. need help to resolve this...i checked the MBC changed out the springs to stiffer one.. and called hallman to get even a stiffer spring... got that and i switched it, still no good. I havent checked the BOV or done the wastegate mod yet... been busy lately but i will try to work on it sometimes this weekend.

if you guys have any ideas to troubleshoot... lemme know.

UPDATE: I have spent some time with my car fixing the problem and it narrowed it down that it was the Greddy Type-S bov.

The Diaphram on the BOV was torn all around at the edge. I have fixed that, and now it is holding at 25psi. turned down the mbc to 24psi tapers at 20psi redline.

I just wanted to note that so whoever runs into a problem like mine can look it up and decipher out that the BOV could also be a culprit to your boost issue.

you shouldn't go to the stiffer spring. the spring came with the hallman bc is enough for the boost you're running. why don't you put back the ebay mbc and see what happen?
