So they would rate you on different catagories...depending on your knowledge of the subject. Sounds cool

ok, you could make a rule. you are not allowed to ask anyone to vote for you. if you get a PM from someone asking for a vote, you can forward that to a moderator and get that person disqualified. also, in order to get your star, a moderator has to nominate you. so not just anyone can say "hey i want a star, everyone vote for me".

just like once a week or so, a moderator would pick someone to be voted on star status. so say like next week, lan evo nominates streetlancer for star status. there's a link on the homepage to the poll, and all the members can go and vote.

Sounds like a good idea to me...See I've been a member for a while now, and before that I used to lurk around untill i decided to become a member. I can tell you it was a lot different back then, topics were always very interesting and it was fun just to log on and read. I don't post much because I'm either busy or I just want to hear technical information. but sometimes some topics are just weird and it seems to me people start those just to get their counts up. I think mods might have a look into this. anyone talk to KK?

One more thing, we should have like moderating status for people who stay up to 4:30AM ET. Kinda like having the abilities that the mods have. But only in the night. Kinda like "Night Moderator" or something. Than when a specific time comes we lose our ablities then the original mods come back to mod in the day. Then we take over for the night. Then the process repeats itself. Cause it seems like the mods aren't here to mod in the late night, or even at night. See that's where the "Night Moderators" come in to moderate when the original Mods are out doing whatever. So we'll be like Secondary mods when the Primary mods aren't here.

i dont think shifts will work, but maybe if we had a "part time mod" they could keep threads where they should be and have the ability to warn ppl but that's all. no deleting no editing and stuff like that. im starting to like these ideas a lot.

how bout no status... in my eyes your status just shows your expirience or lack there of with the forums. Not about knowledge of mitsu or related stuff

How about an additional special star for being able to spell.

Man, if your member number is more important than status, what does that make me???

Isn't kind of like the "I saw it first" mentality?

Maybe we should take the status out altogether and everyone can be equal.
BTW I don't think OT posts count toward the status. At least that is how it used to work.

I agree that way you can at least understand some of the posts that get posted on here.
