OK there's a few things i would like to address and get serious feedback on.

First of all i think newbie, evolving and evolved are either not suffecient or not regulated correctly. i dont mean to diss anyone writing the code that counts the posts but i do see a number of people who get to evolving and evolved status quickly because of misplaced OT postwhoring. maybe there is a way , if the thread was moved, to subtract those posts from the persons total. it could already be like that but im not sure. I would like to either have more status's or custom for ppl with a certain amount or what not.

Second of all, i think member number is more important than ur post status and there should be some level of respect that should be given and shown to those who HAVE been here longer.

By no means am i saying newbies dont know anything or evolved's know everything, but c'mon people....isn't there any level of common sense and respect on the internet???

how about some sort of nomination for like a "star" next to your name. like anyone with a star next to their name is reckognized as knowledgable and wise. you need 5 people to nominate you, including at least 2 moderators, and 50 overall votes to recieve your star.

either that, or we could keep it the same and who gives a ****...dumb ****s will still find a way to get their star.

 

or maybe more status'....like ummm i can't think of any but im sure there could be more, newbie...evolving....evolved....vet.....pro.... i dunno just thinkin.

star sounds tight too. if anyone disrespects the star they get automatically banned.

 

Yea why don't you just add more status'. Actually making it harder probably 200-300+posts apart from status to status..Just a suggestion. Oh yea Mad Props goes out to Smokt...

number of posts doesn't mean much. i mean i could sit in show and shine all day and be like "yo, whatchu dink of mah rims, yo?"
"yeah, dems shiz are fo real"
"wut kind of rubbah shuld i getz fo doz shizie rims, yo?"

but this star thing....this DEMANDS respect from a mass number of regular forum participants. you can't get the star unless moderators agree, and a fair number of forum members agree. then you have some status.

 

yes but lanceritiz.....you show respect, knowing about cars really has nothing to do with it. just not giving out false information and disrepect for elders(i guess) is deserved.

 

Hmm..but imagine the person voting on you has some grudges against you. That's another defect towards the system..But it sounds better in every angle. At least you need the mods to vote too. And i'm shure they'll treat us fairly.

 

oh, and with this star thing, you could have like a mass vote, and there's 3 options:
YES
NO
BLACK MARK

if you get 50 yes's, then you get your star. if you get 50 no's before you get the yes's, then you have to get 75 yes's. if you get 75 no's before you get 75 yes's, then you have to get 100 yes's. this continues.

if you get 30 "black mark" votes, you are disqualified for the star unless a moderator decides you are still eligible.

i dunno, i'm throwin out ideas.

 

yes, now im thinking what about jealousy towards the star? surely we know there are tons of haters and they feed off that.

 

thank you mr. cupbond....i honestly dont think it would have to be that difficult. maybe mods could elect people i dont know, but that was wayy to many numbers. i'd like to see what everyone else has to think.

 

If thats the case people will be sucking up to other members asking them to vote on them. Hey Cup, I'm still your math...

 

maybe you could get stars in different categories. like you could get your star in engine tuning. or you could get your star in body mods. or in car audio. or you could get a super star for all categories.

like where it says "moderator" or "super moderator", some members would have "respected member" or "car guru" or something.

i dunno, maybe it's a bad idea all together. leave the respect to the moderators, and give all members equal share of the forums. you're right, some people will hate on the stars....and some people with stars will abuse their "power".
